So if we guestimate what would be a reasonable number for the vita? What was its percentage last quarter in the combine psp+psv shipped numbers

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

They revised the forecast...

35 million dollars profit

Well I think that is favorable since there are no buildings sold this time around.

The Game division is being affected by the weak yen because the PS4 contracts was made in dollars.

PS4?

Yep

"Operating loss increased 11.2 billion yen year-on-year to 14.8 billion yen (149 million U.S. dollars). This significant increase in loss was primarily due to an increase in research and development expenses related to the upcoming introduction of the PS4, and a benefit recorded in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year due to the reversal of a Blu-ray Disc patent royalty accrual."

Nice. Sony saw a profit, even when not taking into account the recent yen change. So much for Abenomics being the only thing that can save Sony.

And 1.1M shipped would put total PS3 shipments around 78.5M-78.8M, by my estimates. VGC has it sold through at ~78M at the end of June. So, VGC is either spot on or just a smidge undertracked. Either way, that 2nd place lead is just going to keep getting bigger. And 80M+ here we come.

I think it is highlighted in the report that the cause of the loss was due to the R&D and marketing of the PS4.

Edit: MUGEN beat me to it ^^;;

Brand new pic of Kaz after posting 35 million profit.                  (P.S if you take this seriously I'll laugh at you).

Their assumption for the foreign exchange rate seems high. Also Sony is doing well in TV business and smartphones finally so I would assume that is why stocks are up.
