Any numbers to back that about Playstaion 4 pre-orders? Or it is just speculation you are making about Playstaion 4 selling more?
We will see in november is the Playstaion is actually selling more or not; too early to tell :)

Beating the 360 by around 40,000 units a week isn't exactly 'smashing' the opposition. I share your enthusiasm for the PS brand but not your hyperventilations

So pretty much what we knew then. Preorders mean next to nothing in the grand scheme of things, though I wonder if the Xbone is catching up or not. I doubt it's fallen further behind, admittadly.

I think might have been talking about the PS3 beating the 360 worldwide. Enen though he was wrong with "Obliterating" and the other guy was wrong with absolutely smashing....the PS3 is currently ahead of the 360. Even as a PS fan I know that much no need to blow it out of proportion lol.

I believe his point is the article doesn't say "top selling home console in North America for the 30th straight month". Don't know if it's bias or just lazy reporting but either way it's misleading to those who only casually follow console sales.  Heck even some of the less well informed members of this forum have occasionally thought that reports of "Xbox 360 outsold PS3 for the month of..." thought that meant globally and that meant VGC numbers were way off for the month.

The other thing the article confuses is whether that's US pre-orders or global pre-orders. They don't contextualise pre-orders per se, they just say Xb one is pre-ordering ahead of 360. They say that US retailers are sold out of the day one edition, and on Amazon too. But Amazon isn't just a US site. I checked amazon.co.uk and it's still taking day one pre-orders, so I assume the sold out at Amazon only means amazon.com. So does that mean the pre-order rate they're talking about is only USA? Or are they conflating the US sold out statement with global pre-orders?

The article is so stupid as to link to Amazon as a reference within the sentence "Microsoft has announced, however, that Xbox One pre-orders are higher at this point". Why didn't it link to Hryb's actual statement, given that's the subject of the sentence, not the Amazon situation?

There's a lot to criticise about the lack of journalistic competence in this article. Including the unsubstantiated (though likely to be true at least on a global scale) claim that PS4 pre-orders are ahead of Xb one. It's actually not even possible for Sony or MS to confirm (if they wanted to) their relaive pre-order numbers, because neither company knows how many units have been made available for day one pre-order, and neither company knows how many units each other will ship in the first 3-6 months.
