i really hope they do this and have been holding out for them to do so. I have a ton of games I would love to have access to on my 3DS. I only have one game that is identical on both systems and that is punch out. I would love to play alot of the classics via handheld, but no way I am paying twice for them. If they do a discount price then I may be interested.

Wait... All this is based on the fact that he was able to view Wii U games on the 3DS eShop? You know you can view 3DS games on the Wii U eShop, right? I think they're just trying to unify the two to the point where you can at least see videos and information for both platforms. This doesn't look like it means anything else...

well-you need a certain number of games to justify investments in such a thing like cossbuy.For two games a year it simoly does not pay.

 

the other problem is:ps3-vita games operate on a similar graphic standard and similar controls(2 sticks,use of the touchpad as trigger substitute.It's far more homogenoues concept than wii u-3ds and has less obstacles.

 

mario cats? a new ip?-seems marios catsuit is a real success.

i think 3ds and wii u is very compatible...

 

i mean the touch- second screen is very similar in both console....

they can always water down the graphics for the 3ds....

It's exciting to think about regardless because we haven't had it all this time.

you mean YOU havent had it, its been done before...but seriously i see what you're saying and it is exciting, but i personally loose some of my excitment when i know something like this should have been done already. its more like "about time"

I'm all for playing Super Mario 3D Land on Wii U. Something about that bigger screen. Nintendo better be working on 3DS/Wii U features because Sony is doing CPR on the Vita/PS3 connectivity.

We got some various bug fixes and improvments the other day. They stated a while back that a unified account would come as well as miiverse and other stuff to 3DS.

So now they are prepping 3DS for this as well.

Summer update could include updates to both 3DS and WiiU and eShop.

3DS gets miiverse
Both get unified eShop experience where you can now buy stuff for either console from either console or web.
NNIDs are now linked or merged into one account and software is now tied to that account vs that piece of hardware.
You can now connect/share with a specific number of hardware so long as the NNID is connected to that hardware.

For WiiU that means you can have your share with that number of WiiUs just so long as your NNID is one of the many installed.

For 3DS it only allows on NNID to be installed as its a personal device. But you will no longer lose content if you lose the device.

This is what I'm really hoping happens. Plus they'll have to figure out something for those that bought same VC games on both consoles. Maybe credit them or something and in future when a title comes to one and then the other, its a free download ... or at least a discounted option similar to Wii to WiiU upgrades. (this issue may also be why WiiU doesn't have the promised Gameboy games yet as they are limiting this negative double purchase issue)

This way when I get my kids 3DSs (likely this year) content can be more fluid between the console and their devices.


This is all that stops me going crazy on the eShop. I haven't touched it yet out of fear I'll lose everything.
