I posted this comment in another thread but I thought people here might be interested.

Had a very interesting talk with an ebgames owner today about lots of gaming stuff (I love how I can just walk into a store and have a huge discussion with someone about the hobby we have). Talked about upcoming releases, hard drive size, PS plus etc, and the Convo eventually shifted to digital gaming. He said that the company has a plan in place to phase out all physical stores and have one online digital store instead, if the industry shifts that way (which it will). Most of you will think it's pretty obvious that big physical retailers would shift to online stores, but i was surprised at how accepting he was of it, almost as if he did not care that all these stores and jobs would be lost. Very interesting talk but that's the only thing I thought I should share, and I didn't want to start a thread.

THis is very interesting.  Thank you for sharing it with us :)

Digital will only get bigger and bigger so it doesnt surprise me that plans are being made for such a shift

Q1-Q2 2016 is starting to look really busy, which is different from most years. So far we have 5 confirmed AA/AAA games, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Mirror's Edge 2, The Division, Uncharted 4, and an unannounced AAA from Ubisoft. Other AA/AAA games rumored for Q1-Q2 2016 include Dead Island 2, Quantum Break, and Scalebound.

Lots of Jp games as well, but these always come in slow months. (Not for Xbox one tho)

No problem. If I wasn't on mobile and in between interviews I would start a thread about it lol I'll do it when I get home.

Lol ubi on AC..

Which studios are involved in this new opus?

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec in collaboration with eight other Ubisoft studios: Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Montpellier, Reflections, a Ubisoft studio, Ubisoft Chengdu, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.

Jesus....what a mess

AC franchise development is just disjointed as fuck. Honestly Ubi needs to get their shit together. They indroduce something in one game players like and then gut it from the next because hell they got 2-3 in the works at all times by god knows how many studios and everybody is pulling in different directions.

I just don't care anymore. They keep going like this I won't even care about Japan.

Eh, I'm not too concerned about it being multi-studio. The core team at Ubisoft Quebec consists of about 300 developers who have been working on the game for the past 3 years apparently, seems like the other studios were likely just brought in for Q/A testing and the like, more so than actual development.

AC4 was developed by 7 different studios and was still the 2nd best game in the series imo with an 88 on metacritic. Multi-studio doesn't neccessarily mean bad.

I just find it hilarious, I wonder how many left aren't working on it

Well, Ubisoft has like 30 different studios, though not all of them are developers, some only handle localization.

For the number of studios they got...

they don't put out that many games.

I'm voting for MGSV. I have never played a MGS game, so it looks fresh. AK has kinda rubbed me the wrong way with how the DLC is handled.
