I'm considering KI but I majorly suck at fighters.... well not that I'm really good at any game anyway lol (at least I get more play time out of my games :P )

Do you really feel MS can do that with Kinect bundled?

That would mean quite a significant loss on each console almost $100, considering that they are making a small profit at the moment or breaking even.

If they cut Kinect then they can move to $399 and still keep the same margins im assuming or make a bigger profit. But cutting the Kinect will have an impact on their vision for the console.

I think they should hold the price and really push the advantages of Kinect..and by that I dont mean voice control I mean gaming. They need popular casual titles. They could possibly do a $50 cut with Kinect though...that seems more feasible than $100.

So yeah I dont think that would be the right thing to do "business wise" I mean its not like the console is selling badly.

Yes, Microsoft can afford it.  Say, they haddn't sold a single Xbox One last quarter, and they just *gave* them away. Zero return.  They would still have made over 4 Billion last quarter after paying all the bills. They could afford it.

But having alot of money is not a reason to be reckless.  I peronsally would be suprized if their isn't some great bundle or $50 - $100 off specials for Black Friday.

I agree things do get nasty out of the official threads and other threads where only a single fan base is posting but its not only one fanbase that contributes to it. The fact that you even think about the situation that way indicates to me that you are then apart of the problem.

Yes Sony fans has the most fans on this site and therefore by defualt Sony fans will have the most of everything. Its numbers really. Sony will have the most trolls, the most flamers, the most reasonable, the most negative, the most positive, the best posters, the worst posters, the most non bias posters. Just based on numbers alone Sony fans will have all the best and worst of it.

I also think that theres a fanbase on this site that gets almost no credit...the non aligned members. The posters where you see them and ask to yourself whose this guy with? One thread hes against Sony and the next hes with them? Theres actually quite a big number of posters like this if you actually go through the threads.

I think everybody on this site needs to realise that its not the fanbase thats the issue its the individuals. And there are lots of trouble making individual posters on this site who have allegiences to all 3. Just have a look at the monthly ban report...you will see a lot of posters from all sides.

In the end I dont think posts like this helps the community especially in a thread where theres only a specific fan base. I'd rather we keep the official threads strickly about whatever it is official for. Otherwise this is just a hang out place for all Xbox Fans...which will be stupid. If you are spending most of your time in one thread then this forum is probably not the best one for you. Same goes for the people who camp out in the official Vita thread.  Maybe a single focused forum is best for these people.

Yes lots of of companies can afford to give stuff away but they dont. In fact they never do. So yeah that really wasnt my question. 

To demonstrate this, MS put quite a lot behind the Surface...the device didnt sell well and they didnt cut the price to crazy levels just so that it can sell. In fact doing that doesnt even gaurentee you success. And while MS is a very successful company they are successful for a reason. They dont just let divisions bleed money and just support it for no reason.

Edit: Actually one of the few times companies start giving away stuff for next to nothing is when the product is competely dead.

Yes I think they will. Not sure how much they can cut off production costs in next 9 months but it will go some way towards not losing much. I don't think they'll cut Kinect from the bundles, think it would be foolish in fact.

I think it's amazing they've launched a new console and the hardware division has made a $400 mill profit, such a far cry from the early 360 days. I said they wouldn't lose billions this time around and I was right, heck out of the big 3 so far they're the most profitable!

$50 loss on 10 million consoles is $500 mill, easily done when the division is making good profits.

And I agree with you, just because they can afford to make a loss doesn't mean they will, or would want too, MS is a clever business for the most part. A small loss (relatively) of $500m is something they can swallow however.

But i think realistically they will cut to 449 and take a bit of loss or maintain there margins. Again i think the key point in this situation is that the Xbox One is already selling well.

If they cut to 399 it would be more a reaction to Sony and PS4. Making decisions based entirely on a competing product isnt the right way to go about things imo. Because you will always be on the back foot.

It sold great over the holiday, if it's higher than $399 september onwards this year it won't do well, and MS will be stupid not too. Then again they've shown resistance to price cutting last gen since 2008.

I think they have a short sharp shock coming if they think they will compete with PS4 competitively, it's going to get destroyed at $500. Hence I don't think they'll have much choice.

Even when they cut price it'll lose. This gen isn't about beating PS4, it's impossible imo. Just about keeping a close enough userbase and making money.

No.  Ive said on numerous occasions i want this thread to be able to talk about anything that is on people's minds.  We have numerous people in this thread that plays all consoles Including me, and the discussions here has never been strictly xbox(though mainly it is).  We have talked about nintendo, sony, shows, etc  You just recently started commenting in this thread and im glad to see that but if people want to vent in this thread then they can.  For people who likes xbox (whether it is their preferred or not) has to hear a lot of shit about how xbox sucks, theyre evil, they have no games, xbl is horrible, and the list goes on.  yes there is a primary group on this site that causes "a lot" of it and while yes there is also good and bad users in every fanbase it doesnt change the constant trolling from one specific fanbase "majorly" over the other two.  

PS. Nintendo has a big fanbase as well on this site.  We all know the guilty members but we arent allowed to name names so when people talk about a fanbase you can use common sense to know who theyre talking about.

Again this thread may be about Xbox but i promote conversations regardless of what it is about.

Has anybody played Ys for the Vita? I know you guys wanted me to play Tales of Vesperia but ehh, i passed lol However ive been wanting to try Ys and because Pezus lied to me saying it had a demo *shakes fist* i may end up buying it. Wondering if anybody has any opinions on it?
