^Glad to see United Front is making the Xbox One port, it'll give them some much needed Xbox One experience so the Xbox One version of Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars should be well optimized for the Xbox One.

Well thats a postive, Didn't think off that, But still the PS4 version has the better developer studio, United aren't experienced at all with ports and the other studio is bascially made for ports Lol

Can't wait for Triad Wars

Nah, I think United Front will do a good job on Tomb Raider despite their lack of porting experience. I have faith in them after Sleeping Dogs, they did a fantastic job on it even though it was only their second game.

The only downside that I can see to this announcement is that Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars will probably be delayed into 2015 now since a large portion of their development team will have been working on Tomb Raider for quite awhile.

It would have been pretty easy for any studio to port tomb raider to X1 and PS4. I highly doubt that a new game will be delayed because of this.

Just remember that the next gen consoles have a very similar architecture to that of normal gaming PC's.

Hopefully you're right and it only took a small team of United Front developers a short while to develop it and Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars is still on schedule for 2014. I am a bit concerned though, Crystal Dynamics have been suggesting that portions of the game were rebuilt for next-gen consoles, it's not just a simple port of the PC version as if though the Xbox One and PS4 hardware were running in a PC. They claim that they redid all of the textures, introduced some new tech for the engine, had to recode TressFX to make it work on consoles, etc. All of that could have taken quite a a lot of time and developers potentially. Sometimes porting is fast and easy, other times it takes awhile (for instance Halo: CE Anniversary supposedly took over a year to complete even with two different developers working on the singleplayer and multiplayer). I just hope this was one of those fast and easy ports, because after playing Sleeping Dogs recently when it was added to Games For Gold and enjoying it enough to give it a 9/10, I'm definitely ready for Triad Wars asap.

Sounds like marketing and PR to me :/ . Il wait for the digital foundry analysis to judge though but i highy doubt they needed to "rebuild" anything for the console version.

Especially on X1 given that it uses the DirectX API if im not mistaken.

The studio really wouldnt matter in this case. They simply port the PC version to both consoles...

Both versions seem to be performing inline with their equivalent off the shelf gpu

You're right about their performance, I compared the framerates listed in the GAF thread to Tomb Raider PC benchmarks, the Xbox One version seems to be performing a little bit better than the 7790 (which it's GPU is based on) and the PS4 version seems to be performing a little bit better than the 7870 (which it's GPU is based on).

I would imagine that the graphics is parred back a bit compared to ultra settings on PC to achieve these results. We also need to factor in optimisations done for specific hardware.

It seems that they are actually performing better than their off the shelf gpu equal...as the X1 gpu is more similar to a 7770 and the PS4 gpu more similar to a 7850.

They need to launch in the rest of Europe this Q.

So some of you might know I currently live in France... I check my local game store and major retail chains over the last week or so.... And while PS4 is on back order.... XBox one is nowhere to be found either even though the wait is shorter... So yeah they flooded USA.... Thought I'd just share that... My city being the 7th biggest one in the country.... Can't wait for when they launch worldwide... The fight will be ruthless especially after all the first price cut... The gog for xb1, the different media investments, halo5, and DA CLAOUDZZZZZ :)

Jeez things get ugly outside of this thread. I honestly don't know why I ever go outside of this thread, our last bastion of Xboxitude. It's not the Nintendo fans, I don't have a single issue with any of them, it's the Sony fans, especially certain ones (who I won't name but I'm pretty sure that you guys know which ones), but even as a collective whole they really get on my nerves. I mean I thought the PC elitists were bad back before this generation started, but since the announcement of the Xbox One the Sony fans have claimed the most obnoxious fanboy title from PC gamers and have carried it to new lows of fanboyism since then. Why is that that Sony fans feel the need to downplay every little bit of positive Xbox, Nintendo, and even Steam news, however small? They claim that they have the greatest system so why aren't they playing it instead of wasting time on the internet harassing others?

Well, that's my soapbox speech, I'm done now XD

I'm even posting in one of these threads but it is hopeless. The topic is Microsoft so there is no chance to tell people how the world of reporting sales numbers works.

The only thread I saw recently was that Tomb Raider thread, which other was there? I've gotten so used to it, it doesn't even faze me anymore. This is directed at was Shikamaru said.

Yup, just saw it, not surprising. Just another day on VGChartz!

They ruined GameTrailers and it's only a matter of time before they ruin this site too.

Not too interested in Thief, might rent it after seeing some reviews though.

Same, it'll probably be a rental for me. Too many other games coming out this year to spend $60 on it.

Yeah pretty much, only spending $60 on games I'll spend more than 50 hours in or for Devs that really deserve it
