Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Empire - New thread up soon!

Update: A Square Enix spokesperson issued the following statement to IGN: "Both platforms offer the same outstanding Tomb Raider experience. Delivering the core Tomb Raider gameplay at native 1080p and running at 30fps was always our primary goal given the type of experience Tomb Raider is and the exploration we want players to do. Anything beyond 30fps for this version is gravy."

Original story follows.

Capcom have commented, Idk where the thread is but clear it up for everybody here

Edit, Does that mean both versions are 1080P 30FPS?...

Xbox One 30-45 FPS and PS4 40-60 FPS: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=757184

BBC:

Microsoft reports better-than-expected earnings

Microsoft's shares rose on the back of better-than-expected quarterly profits

The firm reported a net income of $6.56bn (£3.94bn) for the quarter, up from $6.38bn a year earlier.

Its earnings were boosted by strong sales of its new Xbox game console and its Surface tablets during the holiday season.

The company also saw strong demand from businesses for its cloud services.

Overall, the firm's revenue rose 14% during the quarter to $24.5bn. Its shares rose close to 4% on the news in after-hours trading.

Microsoft's chief executive, Steve Ballmer, called it a great quarter and said that investments the firm was making in devices and services was driving the strong results.

The quarterly results showed a 13% increase in consumer sales. This was boosted by 7.4 million unit sales of Xbox consoles, up from 5.9 million a year earlier.

The new Xbox One, which was launched in November, contributed more than half of overall Xbox sales numbers in the quarter.

Sales of the firm's cloud programs, such as Office 365 and Azure, more than doubled in the December quarter from a year earlier, while sales of its Surface tablets doubled from the previous quarter.

Major Nelseon Comments on More competitive Digital Pricing

Good news, peasants! Microsoft is aware that some of you ungrateful sods think £35.19 is too much to pay for a new edition of Angry Birds. Posting very briefly on Reddit, PR man Larry Hryb also hinted at announcements to come this year.

"We are way aware of this and many of the concerns of the community," he wrote with regard to a thread about a Microsoft Store pre-order deal for Titanfall, which some people are having trouble taking advantage of. "We have some great stuff planned for Xbox One this year (and beyond.) As soon as we can share some of the goodness...we will."

Asked by a fan whether the said "great stuff" might encompass more competitive pricing for digital downloads, the Major replied: "Is is indeed on the agenda." So now you know.

Digital Xbox One game prices (and, in fairness, digital PS4 game prices) are the object of much grumbling. It's been claimed that the growth of digital distribution on consoles will bring about a general price drop, as publishers pass on what they've saved by cutting high street retailers out of the loop. Alas, this hasn't yet come to pass - Xbox One exclusive prices actually rose over Christmas.

I want battery life indicator, storage like the 360 was, app management, and more sub sections (home, games, etc). I know Shikamaru wants added resolutions for his computer screen too :)

Okay, so for a long time people kept talking about "smartglass" support, especially in games. I used Smartglass on my phone, but it never connected to the One. Today I finally realize that there is two Smartglass apps... one for 360 and one for the One. LOL at my stupidity. Smartglass, in the 5-8 minutes that I've used it, makes a great blu-ray player remote control. :D
