Just finished Rayman. Great game. Got 870/1,000. The big ones that I didn't get are the millionaire achievement and the final level of awesomeness. Not worth it in my opinion. I only have 550K lums and I still got more than 4,000 points to get to level 11 in awesomeness. I need to spend months playing challenges in order to get them! Won't happen!

Locke is.....a wannabe nobody until proven otherwise. So far Nightfall has established him to suck at pretty much everything
And Arbiter, while being very cool, and voiced by Keith David (I mean it can't get much better than that) is still nowhere MC's icon status. Like Criss said, you saved the Galaxy like 4 times as Chief. He's you, essentially. Arbiter was just along for the ride once.

Well Masterchief is actually listed as the #3 most well known gaming mascot of all time (if i remember correctly). There was a study done on it last year where they went around asking random people what gaming mascot they knew and he was in the the top 5. I actually posted it in this thread but cant find it

What's crazy about prefering a supporting character?
More often than not the best written characters aren't the MC.

Several reasons.
For one, I said so, which seems like all the proof anyone should ever need when it comes to anything.
Second, the Chief is a vessel for the entire plot of the game and all your actions in it. He is, as mentioned, you by extension. Liking anyone better than you like yourself is for losers. Get a bigger ego!
And last but not least, he's the color of money.

Color of money? aren't you European lol
When I play as a nameless MC is one thing, Chief isn't, I can't see him as myself.
Even then, on a game like pokemon it makes sense. But something like Persona or so it depends, P3 MC is cool, P4 one is boring.. I don't want to be him lol

I grew up in the global USA 
Seriously though, yes I am technically German, but I did spend most of my life so far in the states so.....most people consider me more American than anything else
If you can't see yourself as the Chief I regret to inform you that you're just not awesome enough. Perhaps try buying more Doritos and Mountain Dew. If symptoms of non awesomeness persist I recommend seeing a doctor
