Halo 4, at launch, had no technical issues.  In thar regard, it had a successful launch.  Halo 4 online stumbled in regards to the core mechanics of the game and playlist decisions.  That's where it suffered.

And do you honestly think that any of these companies would release a game in such an awfully broken state and take the risk of permanently damaging the brand as a whole, and on top of that spend millions more post launch to have the teams rush to fix the issues, on communications pr, and the compensation items??

And let's not even forget that microsoft's new party system (rumored) that was supposedly used for Halo MCC was possibly a major factor in the online issues.

Halo MCC is the first MS Studios published title to have such major online issues upon launch.  It was never a trend with MS games before MCC.

I've played Halo 4's multplayer more than anyone else here. There were lots of issues for months ranging from lots of lag, to waiting more than 15 min to find games and being booted out randomly from matches. And those problems lasted for months.

Depends on the situation. Releasing a game in November or December will make more money than any other time of the year. The X1 needed a system seller last year and MS knew Sunset Overdrive wasn't enough.

I've punched in hundreds of hours into Halo 4.  Got it prior to launch day.  Played with countless people over the years and not once did we have any of those issues you've mentioned.  Lag happened, yes, but not any more or less than what I experienced in previous Halo games.
If this stuff happened to, and for MONTHS?...well, then I'm sorry for your experience, but you seem to be in the small minority that experienced such issues.

The closest bad experience I experienced in Halo 4 was the first day of launch, where waiting times were right around 2-3 minutes.

edit:  if you get back to me, I'll probably reply in a bit.  Need to play some Ori.

I have too. I've played the multiplayer for 750 hours+. I had those issues for for 3 months. It only got better once the population numbers had dropped significantly. I remember on the waypoint forums many people were complaining about the server problems.

Mo I am not sure what you are talking yes a bit of lag was there but it was a very rare issue. Halo 4 was technically fixed for me I experienced very less issues and compared to COD BO2 Halo 4 had way less lag.

Must have been isolated issues for you and the select few who experienced that then.

Yes even I think so or maybe some problem on isp side since my time with Halo 4 was a great one with very less lags and less waiting time in lobbies and yes I have been playing that game since launch.

I also never got booted out of matches or had to wait 15 minutes. It was all pretty much normal except for the firs few weeks where I also had some lag (the kill cam was totally fucked up, had a big delay lol) but lag was the only problem the first few weeks.

And I also played it hundreds of hours (no idea how much) so that I don't think I was just lucky especially since my Internet was horrible and I guess I would have been the first to get kicked out of a match. Maybe my Internet speed was even the problem for the lag but I think that was a general problem for many after release? Some netcode problems I suppose, no clue...

Because of delay of UC4 I expect Rise of the Tomb Raider to sell even more and which means MS just got lucky.

One more thing most of the third party deals MS get why are those games not good or fail to impress.
AC Unity - A very big deal and game was plagued by bugs and performance issues on launch,
Evolve - The bull shit DLC stuff it had and less on content.

And the good one's they get they never market them we should make a list of games Ms had a marketing right but never used, I mean just update that Unity bundle with some other bundle that game is old.

With Ascreed was just unlucky considering that the previous games didn't have these problems. MS also has deals for games like Dragon Age: Inquisition which was pretty flawless if I didn't miss something. Just too bad that MS didn't do much with that, no idea why they even paid for some exclusive rights if they didn't use them^^  MS has also deals for Fifa, CoD and so on...

That every third deal is with a game which has some major flaws is just simply to explain, every third AAA game has these flaws nowadays

They should market The Witcher 3.

I don't think Uncharted 4 and Rise Of The Tomb Raider would affect each other's sales anyway, they are on different consoles.

There is a lot of people like me who have both consoles, and then there is others going to be buying a new console for one of these games.  With Uncharted out of the picture it leaves this holiday to Rise of The Tomb Raider for the people who was previously making a decision out of one of the two
