Yes me too since whenever you buy a medium-big studio key members end up leaving so better outsource or work with other devs

Studios that are doing well don't like being bought out. Studios that aren't doing so well however, they like to be bought out, then the employees get to keep their jobs... There have been quite a few devs that have been in a bad position and perfect for a buyout in recent years. Anybody that was under THQ, Atlus or Crytek as examples. |
And do you know what pretty much all those guys have in common? Nobody wants to buy them, they want their IPs. Nobody wants struggling studios.
Atlus was making money, it was their owner who was struggling.
Sega ended up getting them, but there was lots of competition.
Not saying that there aren't exceptions but by and large it's just true that big publishers aren't looking to buy struggling devs (for whatever reason that struggle exists). They'd rather let em go under and then headhunt specific guys. I can give you any number of examples of that happening with even great working teams like not too long ago with the Kingdoms of Amalur devs or the Darksider group. Could someone have gotten all those guys to come over to them (even under a different name) and keep working together since they were clearly making sweet games? Yes. Easily. But nobody did.

And then they go buy the IP? Not sure I like that but it makes business sense.
Managed to do some viking achievements today, I'm at 50% done... it's enough lol
So my brother and I have each other's accounts set to be home on the other person's Xbox. This allows us to share digital games with each other since any account gets to play the games of the home account on a console for free. It also means whenever I buy something on my account his console will automatically download it (unless manually cancelled). All pretty cool. It also leads to situations like this......
I come home from a weekend trip to 44 notifications. WTF is this I ask myself? Apparently my brother had bough DoA5:LR, which for some messed up reason seems to download every single damn character as well as several outfits/outfit packs separately. Thank god I wasn't here for all that cus man I would have lost my shit lol
