Yeah, it was Telltale's first fairly big project. Little known fact, before that point Telltale was pretty much unheard of by most gamers, they mainly made small games and crappy games such as the games based on the CSI tv series, Telltale's average meta score before BTTF: The Game was in the 60's I think. Right after BTTF: The Game released, they also did a Jurassic Park game, then in 2012 came The Walking Dead which finally put them on the map, winning GOTY and getting 21m+ sales. Now pretty much every gamer knows who Telltale is.

I never played any of those, but I did play one of their CSI games, it was pretty crappy. I have no idea how they went from making the CSI games which got metascores in the 40's, 50's, and 60's, to releasing a 90+ meta Game of the Year winner in just a few short years. I assume there was a staff shakeup and some point and alot of bad developers got fired and replaced by good developers from other studios.
