Wow, Watchdog 4m Week 1

PARIS - June 3, 2014 - Today, Ubisoft® announced ongoing record sales for Watch Dogs, which has sold-through more than 4 million copies in its first week, positioning it as the best-selling new IP at launch across the video game industry*. Having already broken sales records in the first 24 hours following its release, Watch Dogs is now the company's best-selling game ever in week one**.

"With such strong sales momentum and positive feedback from gamers, Watch Dogs has positioned itself as the must-have game of the moment" said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft. "We're really proud of this achievement, and are confident that the Watch Dogs brand has a promising future."

The launch of Watch Dogs on consoles and PC was accompanied by the release of a free companion app, ctOS Mobile. The app allows gamers to connect with the Watch Dogs universe from anywhere, at any time, and is designed to enable revolutionary dual-screen gameplay, or even to be enjoyed as a standalone experience without the main game. ctOS Mobile has already been downloaded and played by more than one million people**. Watch Dogs will also be released on the Wii U(TM) system from Nintendo in Fall 2014.

Watch Dogs is set in Chicago and lets players become Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker seeking justice following a violent family tragedy. Pearce hacks into Chicago's Central Operating System (ctOS), which controls the city's infrastructure (security cameras, traffic lights, public transportation and more) as well as key data on the city's residents. The game uses the all-new Disrupt game engine to deliver stunning visuals and an incredibly immersive world.

If Worldwide sales are similar to UK breakdown

1.960m PS4 version
1.080m XB1 version
520k 360 version
360k PS3 version

Obviously it's not gonna be same in every country but possibly gives a good rough guide.

4 Million for Watch Dogs?

Wow. That is impressive. Good job ioi!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Horizon looks so sweet

I wonder how much Watch_Dogs would sell if it wouldn't be advertised as exclusive PS game. I mean, If they would always mention every system, PS sales would be probably not really lower but Xbox and maybe PC sales higher. Is it really worth it to accept some million from Sony (or in other cases Microsoft) to act as if the game is only on one system?

I mean, with advertisement you try to tell people that this is something they really need. If they never tell Xbox owners that this game is what they really need, many Xbox gamers will never feel as if they should own it. Not talking about people in gaming forums but the average Joe in front of his TV.

I like this news for two reasons. 1 being it shows devs that new ip's can do well if they put the work into it. 2 it shows devs that thy dont always have to release everything in the holidays. These months has much less comptition giving people less options to go with something else.

Plus i like the game so there is always that too lol

Ain't that the god damn truth.

Damn publishers and their obsession with releasing everything around the fall and holiday season.......

I mean honestly. Do they think we're on vacation all summer long. Like we all go on a 2-3 month camping expedition, away from all traces of modern life? Morons

lol i always thought this.  It always irritated me when i was in school and on summer vacation there was never anything to play.  I was pretty active too going out with friends, playing basketball etc but there was a lot of times where i was just at my house doing nothing.  Those days id always want something to come out -_-
