The hardware is sad period all around.

The price for the PS3/360 is just criminal in this late stage.

True, but Bundles can get price drops too. Look at MS last year when they had that 50 dollar price cut for the holidays. It was applied to the Halo 4 bundle and that was $399.99 when it was announced. Prices are always subject to change.

VGChartz has the game selling 582,000 units at retail.

Well, if there is a cut to $199, it may very well pass it for a month or two. Of course, I expect the 360, as well as MS's support for it, to drop faster than the PS3 once the new consoles arrive. So, I think we'll get quite a few months of the PS3 outselling the 360 in about a year.

As far as next gen goes, I fully expect the PS4 to win NA, even if it's only by a few million. That, plus the advantage in pretty much every other region, should give the PS4 a pretty nice gap over the One when all is said and done.

That's why I believe there will be a price cut for both this year. I think it's time for the 250GB model for both consoles to be $199.99 with a cheaper option for Black Friday. The prices these days are just to damn high.

Its def possible but I think the will hold out until next year, having them at higher prices will make PS4/One look like better values. Also they will get big holiday deals/bundles anyway.

Very true. I'm guessing they are definitely dropping it later this year during the holidays. MS has had a $199 SKU for quite some time, but I'm sure they could afford to drop it to $149. Sony should have it drop to $199 later this year. I guess they both have just been focusing on profits over marketshare. Though, I suppose Sony doesn't need to worry about marketshare now that they are #2. Heck, they did the unthinkable and rose the price of the PS3 by $20, though they do throw in a game to justify it.
