£55 is pretty expensive, luckily I only wanna buy one EA game what doesn't come till next year so hopefully they realise that that price is a bit too much

I don't mind at all. This would just mean that I'm skipping BF4 and FIFA 14, going with Killzone SF and waiting till PES comes to PS4.
Well maybe BF4 will come down to reasonable prices when Battlefront will launch, so that will keep me occupied when I'll be waiting for Battlefront discounts :D

Hopefully it doesn't set a precedent for other publishers, otherwise I'll stick purely to PC gaming.

I say relax. No one is being forced to pay anything they can't pay. Just wait for the games to come down to a price you can afford or are willing to pay and that is how you make your voice heard. EA/any other publisher will get the picture once they notice 100k-300k launch sales at retail price and 500k-1mil sales at $20-40 price.

A similar report was said about the UK not long ago, the idea that EA would charge £55 as RRP. The thing is, many games now have the same RRP, I think general games RRP is £50, but due to the market having to be competitive the price automatically falls to £40 or so. RRP is Recommended Retail Price, you could charge more if you want. :P

Here is an example, FIFA 14 on PS3, RRP is £55 reduced to £40 to be competitive.

Without the actual games being released yet it's hard for companies to do competitive prices, also a limited user base might keep prices high at first so companies can make their money. EA may be doing this. I know US is different but if I were you lot, I'd start raging, we as a community got MS to change their crappy policy, complain and EA will too, if they want to make an extra buck, why doin't thy just add $5, might not seem a lot but make all the difference in the long run.

Don't hold your breath, because the PC version don't have the uber-awesome new graphics engine, so this is a possibility.
