Whut? How!? o_O |
i played 4 races with mario kart Wii, while i know thats not enough to fully judge the Wii version but it was clear enough for me to know which one is better.
i liked controlling the actual kart with the n64 controller much more than the Wii one, i felt i had so much more controll in the n64 version. i liked the maps better as well.
im sure as hell going to play more of the Wii version, but it just isnt as fun as the n64 one, not even close. i didnt like the cheasy animations or sounds in the Wii version, i actually think the art style and color scheme in the n64 version looks better. bottom line, the n64 version is much, much more fun.

I love all of the MKs except for Super Circuit which I think is pretty terrible. It may be because of the tech, but yet I have no issues with the SNES original.
Anyhow, Double Dash is definitely not my favorite but I love things about it - most notably the character specific items. I thought that was the best dynamic of the game. The two character functionality was also pretty cool.
The main problems I had with it were the power-sliding feeling weird like someone else mentioned and the fact that it just felt too slow to me, even on 150. Also, many of the tracks were a bit forgettable (loved DK Mountain, though).
My favorite Kart is the DS version because I love many of the tracks that were introduced there (Delphino Square, Waluigi's, etc) and the sheer number of crazy vehicles. Also, I still think it's a technical marvel considering the hardware it's on; it looks good, plays fast and the power-sliding feels great.

Love the snes, n64 classics. Played DD the most actually, and unlocked everything OCD style...however, DS version is my fav. with the introduction of online play. So addictive back in the day. Hopefully, Wii U's version will be the ultimate culmination.

Sounds more like you just prefer 64 over it, not that it's legitimately better. 64 can't compete with Wii's 32 tracks (most of which with superior depth), 12 player limit, 25 characters, 60fps (1-2 players only though), online multiplayer, superior graphics, and added depth via powersliding, tricks, and different karts n stats. |
i just enjoyed the 64 version better. i might change my mind down the line, who knows. but for me now, i would rather have the n64 version

Super Mario Kart was the best by a loooooooooong way.

Thats perfectly fine, but that doesn't mean it's the better game. The Miami Dolphins may be my favorite team in the NFL, but I'm not gonna say they're the best team as that's clearly not true lol. |
lol that comparison is very flawed. teams actually compete against each other to see who is best. the entire structure of team based sports is to see who has more talent. games, well simply, do not.
