How would I know?  The thread isn't about what Sony promised.  It's about things that we as gamers were wrong about.  I'll elaborate later.  Certain PS3 games are considered the best looking games of the gen, they never did totally destroy the Xbox 360 as far as graphics go.   Guess I need to leave out the "Sony promised" thing when I finish the OP.  I do remember talk of how the performance would improve if more PS3's were online, though.

I predicted that 360 would hold out till the next gen begins, but this was based on the logical assumption at the time that MS would relase X1 in 2012 and especially the 360 getting a price cut since September 2008.

Soooo yup, I got it wrong.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

When did Sony ever promise that the PS3 would do that? Guerrilla called it a target render. 

But they still fooled me and a lot of people with that trailer that looked pretty much like a real gameplay footage of the game.

And I do remember some Sony PR guys saying that it was in-engine and rendered in real time.

You should receive an attaboy for creating a thread that didn't pick one particular machine(Wii/360/PS3) and start a baseless arguments about nothing!  That alone gets you the Gold Star for the day!

Mostly agree, here. My only issue is when somehting is said by one person, of a certain sector, and then taken as a general feeling/prediction/opinion of that entire company.


The real unfortunate part is that with the way information is dissectedand dispersed on the internet, we never really know who is behind most of the details

I think most people thought that the PS3 would eventually catch up and pass the 360.  I almost can't believe it took so long...
