Well, I own the game in Wii VC and one these obvious games come to Wii U VC it'll be upgradeable at a discount just like current Wii U VC games.

Last year, it wasn't much better. I got a Luigi's Mansion, Skyward Sword, and Kid Icarus Poster Set..... I think it's more worthwhile to save coins and buy some rewards. In the past they've given away a gold nunchuck, limited edition gamecube controllers, Game & Watch Ball, Game & Watch Collection 1 & 2, and others. Some of these prize become worth quite a lot over time. Anyway for this year, I got the Majora's Mask Sound Track. I do kinda want the Pikmin 3 Poster, but I'm not interested in the other 2, so I'll pass. |
Thanks for the detailed post. Seems like fan service. Some people really value them quite a lot seeing from ebay links. Others don't seem much value even when getting them shipped to them for free. Pretty neat i'd say for the most part.

In the end, it is a fan service. I have the Game & Watch Collections, and G&W Ball, and it's nice having those games on the shelf because Game & Watch Gallery 2, and 3, were probably my most played GBC games.
It would be cool to get that Nintendo figuring, but again, that's afan service. Who else, but a huge Nintendo fan, would want a Super Mario Bros. statue?
I have a feeling that the next Platinum reward will be a good one because in the next 12 months, most of the points possible will be from new WiiU games, and a few 3DS titles. Nintendo want's to award early console adopters.

I actually wanted the platinum status because I wanted Nintendo to give a retail game as a downloadable reward but it was the same virtual console and dsiware as last year, very likely I will only go for gold since I cant get the physical rewards in Mexico and I redeemed Sakura Samurai
