Forums - General - Breaking News: George Zimmerman Found Not Guilty!

I was not going to say anything from this sad little thread until I saw this mess.

OK, let's just say the kid was bad, fine. The kid was going somewhere, A man decided to follow him with a gun in his waist. That same man ended up killing him, but its the kids fault. The dead kid.

The 17 year kid is DEAD, the person who killed him is free yet most of you are celabrating, I don't get it.

And Zimmerman had to many choices.

1. Don't follow people

2. No Gun

3. Stay in the car

4. Don't go fight children

Zimmerman had plenty of choices, but he was so sure that this kid was up to no good he kept following him instead of waiting for the cops. His life was never in danger, he had a gun and knew it. He  wanted to be superman, but took someone kid away from them. And shame on anyone who dares talk bad about this dead child who did nothing wrong, he comminited no crime but being black and looking suspicious.

Stop calling him a kid. You're appealing to emotion by displaying a street thug as a defenseless little baby because that's what you have instead of facts. Much like the prosecution.

Also he did something wrong. He attacked a neighborhood guard who had every right to defend his life according to Florida's laws. Anyways your demand of Zimmerman following a different course of action but completely exempting Trayvon of the same thing is pretty ridiculous to be honest.

Stay away of arguing if that's the best you can do. You have emotion and the facts the media presented to you. Zimmerman walked free based on jury evidence and the unanimous decision of the jurors so there's nothing you can prove, really.

Dumb ass Treyvon tried to stand his ground without a gun and look what happened to him, this is why so many urban youths in the states need more access to guns, to prevent such tragedies

Stand his ground? Okay...

To think you are being followed by someone isn't reason to charge and maul someone to the ground. Anything you might intend to protect - your personal safety, a robber from knowing where you live - is still too far away from actual harm to justify self defense. That's why there isn't any laws in this case. It's borderline paranoid behaviour if you think so, really.

On the other hand, as you might now, in Florida you actually can shoot someone if they're mauling to the ground. Unlike on wonderful civilized Canada or Western Europe where you are supposed to let someone beat you to death to protect his innocent life.

Arguing?

There's  nothing to argue when You believe Zimmerman life was ever in danger beside him saying it. The reality is we will never know who attacked whom, as the other party is dead.

Street Thug ? the only street thug was the person looking out for balck kids, follwing them, calling the cops because what they looked liked and carrying a weapon and actually used it in a fight.

I have emotion because someone is DEAD, and there's nobody going to jail for it. I have seen the death picture, the kid was wearng normal clothes, he was visting someone.

If his parents brought him up to be a decent person, this would have never happened. He would be here now but he was doing what his television and music( probable girls too) was telling him was cool.
To me this is just an example of someone getting screwed over because of peer pressure and hip hop culture.
If zimmerman is a decent person he will suffer the rest of his life because of what he did even if he had no choice.
Tbh i think a lot of the blame is hip hop culture. It glamorizes the drug dealer lifestyle for many young adults

and martin had many choices.

1) dont get kicked out of school for doing drugs and being a thug

2) dont lay in wait and ambush somebody

3) dont assault somebody

4) dont start fights with someone that is fat and weak with no athletism, when your a strong, lean young man, that is beating the crap out of the pudgy guy

yes we will, zimmerman back of his head was cut and bloody, he had a broken nose. martin had bruising on his knuckles, and a gun shot wound to the chest.

as for the street thug, there is zero evidence that zimmerman was looking for "black kids".  but the "kid" who was known for getting in fights at school and constantly getting in trouble at school, and doing drugs, and displaying on social media his love for the gangster life (also evident by the people he surrounded himself with, his friends).

yes someone is dead, for assaulting someone. is zimmerman didnt have his weapon theres a good chance he would be dead.

1) The evidence was pretty clear in showing that it was self-defence.
2) This should never have been a big media story.
3) The President should not have got involved.
4) This has nothing to do with race.

Simple and true.

I dont get the logic behind fearing a law that says when ppl are attacked, they can defend themselves. The onle reason to fear a law like that is if you intend to hurt ppl and are afraid they'll fight back. that just seems like flawed logic unless you are a criminal, then it makes sense you'd fear it

Defending yourself and a civilian being able to carry a loaded weapon and deciding when he is in danger and is allowed to use it to take a life are very different things. Tasers, pepper spray, proper defense training...all work when it comes to self defense.

The gangs in some of the bigger cities(even medium sized cities like San Bernardino) require the use of a gun as self defense. Its hard to compare Canada to the US, orthe US to any country for that matter. As this case shows we have some massive race problems still to this day. In big citties with gang problems pepper spray and tazers wont do anything. Nor would they help in home invasions, of which we dont suffer too many in the US. Its a different kind of outlook on life, but for the most part guns are not the problem, it the illegal drugs that fund massive gangs accross the country and globe, and the massive cities run by crap government that dont protect their people that are the casue of gun deaths and violence in the US. It doesn't hurt that we have an open border with a country that is basically in opoen revolt against in government and has drug cartels with military grade hardware that support their criminal neighbors up here.

Civil court will not happen. O'Mara will be seeking civil immunity from lawsuits as per this verdict. Sorry, you lost.

He can seek whatever he wants, it's not going to stop it from happening. And sorry, I lost what exactly? I don't have a dog in this hunt. An innocent kid is dead and Zimmerman's life and health are ruined. Kind of sad that you think there are any winners here. The only person who really lost is Trayvon Martin, a kid who is dead.
