No, this is about video games at its core, and your post is pure deflection. Smoke and mirrors.

I want a X1 for its games, and stuff like this ultimately has no impact on my decision.

My masturbation tendencies have nothing to do with this (yes I got your actual meaning, which is immature)

Then stop.  Just say "I want Ryse and Kinect, even if it means I have to put up with all of this BS.  You don't want these games or this BS, so you are getting PS4's."

It's really that simple.   We aren't missing the point.  One is $100 cheaper, twice as strong, and comes with a different set of games.  But 90% of the games are the same, and most of us don't want kinect.  You may fly off to another thread to defend MS.

Twice as strong. sry but lol.

NSA cam? You really are laying the propaganda on thick.

All I know is that people were fine with their phones and internet being tapped, since its part of their daily lives, but this is somehow the last straw. This is being made into more then what it is, and its getting out of hand.

That's because we didn't have to PAY MORE FOR IT!!!   That's what you don't get!

It isn't that we only care about it this time, it is that this time they want us to pay for it.  Do you understand that now?

They want us to pay for it....for reasons people like you have overlooked completely.

The 360 kinect userbase was split from the rest. This made it unattractive for developers to make kinect based games or kinect add-ons to gamepad games. This provides a unified instal base for developers to integrate kinect into whatever game they see fit, because everybody has one. Thats the reason why. And yes, its also convienent to sue for voice searching the marketplace, controlling your media, or making a skype call. For MS's purposes, itll help with targeted ads based on what we play.

Seriously, that is the real reason why its included, at least those are the pros of it being included. I acknowledge your side, truly, but at least tell me you acknowledge the reasons above, whether or not you would personally want it.

No one has overlooked these things:

-The camera interface is just no quicker than using buttons.  I found out Windows 7 can be controlled by voice so I tried it out for fun.  Even when it worked at its best it was no faster than just using a mouse.

-A unified user base is nice yes, then why are no games being shown using it for more than gimmicks?  Because it is one!

So we have established that we (The people who agree, not everyone) don't care about kinect.  Ok then they tell us it costs $100 more because of it, and it spies on us.  Yes so that is why we talk about that aspect.  It is the only one we care about.

This ain;t the thread. But it ain't no PS2/Xbox gap that's forsure. Multiplats will be largely identical for consistency sake. So really, your wrong.

Don't just say matter-of-factly that kinect 2.0 spies on you. It isn't out yet and MS has only been known to dish out Outlook and SKype stuff. Nowehere was their evidence that they gave away Kinect 360 based info.

I swore I made a thread where I broke it down.  If I didn't I probably will later so I can put my thoughts on paper and double check my work while hopefully demonstrating where statements like this are coming from.  Short answer is the X1 is very close to a 7770, and a PS4 is very close to a 7870.  But not now, later people.

The government does NOT care about petty illigal activites, but potential threats to national security. Your cell phone calls are recorded and can be tapped into, your cable box tracks what channels you watch and the times you watch them.

MS did do something wrong, all that DRM crap. Happy? But Kinect being included is to have a unified userbase, as opposed to 360 kinect userbase. Spying is not MS's top priority and it never was. Its responses like yours that paint a picture of the minds of certain individuals. Get over yourself, MS doesn't care to wacth you play Skyrim in your underwear for 4 hours straight in the hopes you say something illegal.

XBot: "Yes Microsoft.  Thank you for telling me what to believe.  Hey why are you covered in blood holding a knife over that body?"

MS: "It's not a body, and this isn't a knife.  I am cleaning!  Go to bed!"

XBot: "Yes honey."

how are you getting away with this shit.

I have been banned a couple of times recently for grouping people and generalising in tones nowhere near as abusive and downright condescending as you choose here in various posts throughout this thread.

what the hell is going on here these days.   ridiculous.

Because I said a joke.  But I will say that me and many of my friends on here have been banned for insanely insignificant things so I feel your pain...

Ok. Can we at least grasp that the government is on trial here, not MS? Because if the federal government demands information to any american company/subsidiary, they would have to comply. MS getting fingered out is just wrong.

But yes, that is my stance. My rights? My life is no different then when I didn't know about this. Why should I care if I have nothing to hide? I am a 100% believer in the greater good.

Theres a lot of self entitlement going on here and many people here take the country they live in, and the relative safety of their day-to-day lives, for serious granted. Keep preaching, and well see what you say if god forbid your local subway station gets blown up.

I don't have anything to hide either, that doesn't meant that I enjoy being monitored or having data collected about me.
I know I can't control data on me from being collected but I can control how much. Not buying an Xbox One is one less device that collects my data.

Maybe if enough people stop buying products from these companies who are collecting data, they'll stop doing it. This applies to more than just Microsoft.

You're saying the exact same thing sales is saying. Clearly you are ok with data being collected on you to a certain extent. Otherwise you would not own a PS3 and you would not be posting this message on the Internet, whether it's from a PC, a phone, or your PS3. Hell, I would love to see a breakdown of all these tin foil hatters in this thread and what they are using to post. I would bet a majority of them are posting via a PC/laptop with a camera attached. So again, everyone "accepts it", if the product is worth it.

The Xbox One is worth it to him. You are buying a PS4 instead, and it will also collect data on you.

No, I am not ok with data being collected on me. If given a choice I would chose to opt-out of it.

My way of opting our of it is by buying a PS4. This NSA/Government spying crap is only another reason for me to choose a PS4 over XB1..

@boldBTW, you keep tossing this term around like everyone who values their privacy is crazy. If anything, those who will willingly let corporations collect/gather/sell data on them are the crazy ones. All it takes is one hacker to leak all this data to the public. Just 1.

but you will buy a ps4?

staying offline always I assume?  otherwise your data is being collected.

The only data that will could be collected through my PS4 is my gaming preferences.
BTW, Sony isn't a part of this not-so-secret PRISM surveillance program so there's that.

Of course if someone makes a terrorist threat on PSN I'm sure Sony will notify the approrpriate authorities. I'm not paranoid about my privacy. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. I use technology and I never say something that would get me in any sort of trouble. I am a law-abiding citizen so I don't fear my data being collected, although I do despise it.

I've been saying this since they started considering entering console gaming...
