Android GoogleTV and ChromeOS are slowly merging. If you haven't noticed Google is always buying new companies and then overtime merging them into one ecosystem.

Chrome just became a browser option on Android last year.

Year before that Android had two differen OS for phone and tablets.

It takes time and they are doing it. However, as Microsoft is finding out, you can't have the same interface for laptops/desktops as phones/tablets. They serve different purposes and have different input types, mostly.

However, it will become true taht eventually Android/ChromeOS coexist and the layout simply changes for the screen/device type just as it now does on Android 4.x+ devices and still share all the same apps.

I still argue that for the greater majority of the mass market/school goers/etc a ChromeBook is more than what they need/use. They just have to know how it actually works first and Google hasn't done a good job at that. Have to train the Windows crowd to use the cloud.

Did VGKing said it was a failure?  Or maybe taking it too personal forces that interpretation on you?

This is positive spin on what is a very bad set of numbers for chromebooks. You know it is bad when they have to qualify the numbers as sub $300 laptops to exclude most of the market and they still are only 20-25% even with that qualifier.

No but he called it irrelevant which is pretty much like calling it a faliure. Maybe having nothing relevant to say on this topic is causing you to skim over other posts and not actually comprehend what is being said?

It's ok to be pro-Microsoft, and we all already know it rubs you the wrong way then anything goes against it.  It's ok.  :::pats you on the back:::  I still don't see a double standard anywhere.

That's fine.  Google is going to be ramping up its research and development once its revenue grows larger.  I am betting that by the time it is as large as MSFT in terms of revenue, that it will already be doing more R&D than them, so to eventually stop this. 

I mean google cares about its IP defense, i mean they bought a bunch of IBM, Kodak, Novell patents, Motorola, etc.   They are def willing to put the $$$$ forward bc the ass rape in royalties will keep happening until they can actually be more aggressive in the courts.

Well, chromebooks are already 4-5% of total laptops sales right now, in america, and are growing.
