That moment you don't know what a chromebook is....

Considering the only way to buy them at this point has been on Google's Play store or Best Buys where the sales people do all they can to dissuade, that's very good numbers.

Now that they will also be available at Walmart and I think Target, it will surely rise quickly.

I plan on buying one or two by the end of this year. I'm moving away from Windows. I can even create websites via chrome only. There are a ton of great apps in the chrome store.

If you want to spend the money, the Chromebook Pixel has many reviews where the screens are equal or better rated than the best Macbooks. But the Pixel is a $1200 laptop.

Not a single revewer out there recomends the Pixel. Not cause of hardware, but OS functionality... CNET has a video where 3 normal people try it for 2 weeks and none of them would take it and replace their laptop even for free.

But yeah, great screen...

How?  You have two differents market trending two different ways.  Then you have one company in both markets also trending two different ways.  This has noothing to do wwith double standards.  It's about one company trending differently in two markets.  Taking it a bit too personal, no?

Windows Phone - trending upwards and growing at 6X the Smartphone market...yet a failure according to VKing?

Chromebook - trending upwards in a very limited sub 300 dollar laptop market with absolutely no Apple products and almost no Windows products either - massive success?

I'm sure I could find 3 people who'd say the opposite. Fact is, you have to know what it (ChromeOS) is before buying it. If you go in without knowledge of ChromeOS webstore, you'll likely return it.

I've also read many reviews where the reviewers used it for a week or so and they all said they are not going back to their macbooks. However, these are individuals who A) already don't use windows and B) tech oriented and therefore know how to use Google's services without any help.

My question is why they don't put Android on laptops already. That new Ativ Q looks to be the best portable device money can buy since it runs Windows and Android. Its showcking they haven't yet released Android and Chromebuck version. That would be worth 300+ dollars for sure.

Okay, so if we ignore all desktops, and we ignore anything that costs $300, and we ignore all markets that aren't the US, we find that Chromebooks have significant share?

I would love to know the precentage of computers that even represents. Oh, thanks NetApplications, looks like that segment represents maybe 0.1% of the PC market:

My local computer store doesn't sell any computer under $300 that isn't a tablet or an iPod.
