Good guys eh? Haha...

I guess it makes sense why these so called good guys have to buy a Chromebook. They will have to kiss goodbye to things like Microsoft exchange, Citrix VPN, any productivity outside light word processing.  They will have to settle for second rate Office Suite and an OS which falls appart without an internet connection. 

These good guys can't really do any work with their computer and keep a job, so a $99 laptop is all they can afford... But not to worry, they can still play Angry Birds and check Gmail while they feel good about their purchase decission. 

Windows Phone has had similar growth but people keep calling it an insignificant failure. Gotta love biases ..

I don't see the appeal, unless you override the OS with Linux.

I was going to pick up Acer C7 and attempt to put Windows 7 or XP on it lol... but no one has figured out how to do it yet. 

Some just can't show acknowledgement without backhanded statements.

The point is: Chromebook sales and the OS are increasing and have done so against all odds against it.

Sure some may try and stretch this, but there is no need to feed either fire.

It's mainly targeting a sub-$300 market and looks like it will increase it's marketshare within that domain. Yes, there are people out there looking for a device that's cheap and can fulfill the use of portable computing (This isn't universal for everyone, Disolitude). Not everyone thinks M$ first.

All of your opinions obviously don't reflect on consumer's behaviors if these Chrome devices are increasing.

Got a $200 Acer Chromebook for my daughter. It's nice, but it really isn't anything special.

I treat it like an entry level laptop for kids.

I guess I should add that I am no Google fanboy. No reason to be.

As someone who already has a desktop to handle my work, and If I didn't already have a tablet, If I was in the market for a cheap device I would consider the Samsung Chromebook. I'd be just fine with second rate processors for when I'm on the road working.

I'm actually disappointed with my $400 Windows 8 Samsung laptop. I think a Chromebook would have been a better option, I just didn't even consider it. But if I really think about it, all I use my laptop for is internet. I don't play games on it or any other demanding tasks.

Would be nice if the lack of processing power at least translated into a better screen though. The difference between my iPhone and laptop is huge.(in favor of the iPhone)

Windows is dominant in a declining PC market while Windows is irrelevant in a growing Smartphone market.

Double standard at work.
