Wii U down once again in Dengeki and Famitsu. Not boding well for the console. Can someone tell me which Japanese game that's not from Nintendo will be coming out for the Wii U in the middle term (Until the end of the year)?
The PS2 port compilation of Yakuza, I guess nothing else, but please correct me if I'm wrong. There are a few Nintendo games coming up, yes, but the TOTAL and ABSOLUTE lack of 3rd party games really portraits the future for the console. If it has worse support than the Wii had and with the abysmal level of sales, then I don't think we will see any 3rd party Japanese games for the Wii U during its lifetime.
At this point of time, the 360 had an incredible library in comparison to the Wii U, and that's all that needs to be said.

Sonic and that's like it.

Oh yes. Well that's two games from SEGA. One being the port of a PS3 game that was a remastering of 2 PS2 games, and secondly a multiplatform WiiU/3DS game. No other publisher is willing to support the console at all. Not even with multiplatform PS3/360 games.

Who, besides Nintendo fans will be buying a console with no variety and no games?

People sick of shooters. (Though most of those already went to PC)

I mean in Japan, shooters aren't a factor there. No one in JAPAN, besides Nintendo franchise fans of course and since Nintendo isn't releasing any new franchises either, there will be no new buyers. And as Gamecube proved, the Nintendo audience is limited. Wii brought new things to the table, but that was mostly casual they attracted. That audience is long gone and Nintendo has nothing new to provide them. 3rd parties will not support the console, so what's left? Simply Nintendo fans.

Console is heading to tragedy territory in Japan, never had I seen such terrible support for a console. Like I said, 360's line up was stellar in comparison.

What are the big Japanese multiplat games coming out in the second half that Wii U is missing out on?

Where did I say big?

You're implying that Wii U is doomed because no relevant 3rd party titles have been announced for it.  You are being selective to Wii U, because there are no significant 3rd party titles for any system announced that I can think of.  All systems are doomed.

You do not think that there aren't enough Nintendo Fans in Japan to at least make the console sell better than 360? I think your expectations are too low, though that could be a good thing.

Haven't you seen the gradual Japanese support shifting from consoles to the handhelds?

In terms of Japanese games, PS4 is going to have similar problems, bar Square's and Capcom's games (And those are coming when?)

Aside from them, not many companies in Japan have the resources to develop for consoles anymore. (Besides, most Turn-based RPGs are a better fit on handhelds)

Please re-read what I said. I said 360 had a stellar lineup in comparison, I never said Wii U was going to sell less. Hint: read Gamecube

You are capable enough to do your own research. I'm tired of listing people all upcoming PS3 games. It will be tough yes, since it implies going to a Japanese website, searching for those games in google and finding the correct name for them. But you can do it. Anyone can do it. PS3 had around 60 - 70 upcoming games from 3rd party Japanese companies, and even if more than 80% them are garbage by your standards, they are support. Wii U has NO GAMES AT ALL. Can you understand that difference? PS4 will probably have more games by the end of this year than Wii U after a year.

Sometimes you just have to let go.

I was more meaning in the line of; "do you not think there are enough Nintendo Fans in Japan?"

The Nintendo audience has grown since the GameCube. You can't rely on something two generations old (to predict how the userbase has grown/not grown.) No matter what people may say about the Wii, it definitely turned people onto being Nintendo Fans. Especially with games such as Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros., and the Wii/U games.

I think another defining factor for the Wii U will be the reception of the PS4 in Japan. The PS2 basically dominated the scene, if the PS4 is recieved as well as the PS2, the Wii U might end up doing a little worse than I expect.

So you are implying that PS4 will be a failure like the Wii U? It's not farfetched to think that, but seeing that companies have announced new big projects for the PS4 but none for the Wii U, I cannot follow your line of thought.

No because the PS4 will have Western games something Nintendo doesn't have. I'm talking in respect to Japanese console games.

We're going to be seeing a lot less of those, I don't expect great Japanese support for the PS4 either. Are there any Japanese console games for the PS4 right now with a release period?

FFXV is far off, Deep Down doesn't even have a decided name yet, and KH3...is due sometime around 2020?. And those are the only 3 Japanese games for the PS4 that were announced.

SE,Capcom,SE. I expect no others for a long time. Compare that to the amount of Western console games on the system coming at launch or with a proper release date, compared to those 3 with not even a window for release. (And those were all like Target render CGIs, I've even heard that only 12 sec of the FFXV gameplay trailer was real-time on GAF)

Expecting PS4 to do great in Japan, when we're not sure if it will even launch by the end of this year, is being really optimistic.

This is not a Nintendo problem alone. When 2 of the 3 console manufacturers are in Japan, but not seeing Japanese developers create content for their home consoles, it's pretty worrisome. The reason why I also expect Nintendo to pool their resources into a hybrid next-gen is not only because of the WiiU doing poorly, but because the Japanese market shift in general.
