Forums - General - Which country should I move to?

I agree on what you said, mostly.
Insecurity has always been an issue as I said for Mexico, but it's not like you get kidnapped every weekend after work, i've never suffered any kind of violence in my entire life and I live in the biggest city in the country.
And well yes, we are not a middle class country, we are probably an upper mid one.

Besides that yes, the rents are expensive on the city and you will find out that it is the same in every single global city in the world (try to live in tokyo for example). And it's such a shame that El Gato Morris didn't win in Veracruz...

Mexico has a lot of parties, alcohol, and dancing lol. It's awesome spending summer over there except looking over your shoulder because I look white even though I'm full mexican -_-

i live in denmark and can give you a run down on that..

climate:
denmark is snowcovered during nov/dec - mar-apr.
about 10 degrees celsius in the spring.
nice 20+ degrees in summer, but with lots of rain.

populace: consists of 5.5+ million people. the danish people can be hard to talk to, but once you get to know us we are among the worlds nicest.. the only way to meet people however is going clubbing, through studies or work. if you talk to someone random on the street you are a weirdo. social norms like these are aplenty and expected to be kept.

economy: although Denmark is also in the recession we have been relatively unscathed because of our large cash reserves. things are still in the red, but by now we start seeing a light ahead of the tunnel.

politics:
little to no corruption, a lot of parties to vote for with very different opinions. no banning of frowned upon parties such as nationalist and communist parties... during the last election however, the current president made a lot of promises that she then later backed out of... this wont happen again though. its popularity has falled way down. :).

social services and tax:
this is propably the best thing denmark has going for it. healthcare is "free". this includes non cosmetical surgery.
students get payed so that they dont need to take a job on the side. good pension, good unemployment care.
this society is all about providing for the weak in society.

of course there is a downside to this. taxes are very high even for low income housings. on the contrary though, wages are high too so it balances out. dental is not free.

education:
nearly all education is free. this includes basic school, "college", university and more specialized educations

crime: since all unemployed and uneducated is looked after financially, not a lot of people are driven to a life of crime. it exists of course but almost exclusively in the big cities. and since denmark is a relatively rural country only very small parts of the country is "risky" to walk alone in the middle of the night. we have bikers and immigrant gangs fighting each other in copenhagen, but other than those noone has guns, so no need to fear mass shootings, hold ups or the likes. i am really thankfull for the relative safety in my country.

other:
if you are a smoker think twice about moving here. there are alot of fees on cigarrettes (although not as bad as in norway) and also some on alcohol, fat, sugar and other unhealthy items.

hope this gave a better picture :)

I could say the UK but we are going down the shitter these days at least in the major cities. Gangs are increasingly a problem in places like London and the economy is pretty shit. The cost of living here is also very expensive and people don't seem to like immigrants coming over for some reason even though most of them wouldn't say anything disrespectful. The politicians are lying, corrupt thieves who will do anything to maintain power. Everything is so messed up here.

I recommend somewhere in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark), Germany or Canada although i have never been to those regions/ countries but they give off a good impression to me. That's because the economy appears to be strong. In Finland, education is completely free even to immigrants and i heard healthcare is free in the 3 areas i mentioned. Crime appears to be quite low too. They are all quite tolerant countries too. They all quite progressive except Canada. But apparently in Canada, it's very cheap to get citizenship there. A 1/3 of what it would cost in the UK, is what my teacher who came from Canada told me. But you should look into abit more, depends on what exactly you want.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

You can't just move to Australia on a whim - we only accept skilled migrants (which you are) but there is a long, drawn out process.....
What about Syria?

Canada is 25% atheist, is accepting of homosexuals and was one of the first countries to allow gay marriage.  It has a stable economy that fared better than most through the latest downturn.  If you have a university degree and speak english or french, immigration is not overly difficult.  The west coast and Ontario and Quebec are the most liberal socially, The Prairies are the most prosperous (oil and resource money).  Winters are mildest in southern Ontario and Brittish columbia.  Winters are harsh elsewhere.  Major centers like Toronto and Vancouver are very multicultural and cosmopolitain. Quebec is a wonderful place but facility in French is recomended.  If you can master french (a small step for a spanish speaker) it has the most liberal attitudes in the country.

We too have a flawed political system that will improve immesurably once our current government is ousted peacfully in the next election.

Come to Australia bro! I'm sure you're used to paying inflated prices for consoles/games anyway (PS4 is $549 here) and our taxes are high, but we're about as close to economically perfect as you can get right now and we're tolerant too. Pay is high, unemployment is low and homelessness is almost non-existent. We have great weather and beaches. I love almost everything about my country and never want to leave!

I actually live really near to the border with the US so I go to San Diego regularly, that's where I get most of my tech stuff at their original price, but I wouldnt' mind paying more in trade for living in a country with a better quality of life.

Thanks for all of your replies so far. I gotta do some research on Germany too besides the countries I mentioned since many of you recommended it to me.

If you don't mind the cold weather then move to Canada.
