Canada is 25% atheist, is accepting of homosexuals and was one of the first countries to allow gay marriage. It has a stable economy that fared better than most through the latest downturn. If you have a university degree and speak english or french, immigration is not overly difficult. The west coast and Ontario and Quebec are the most liberal socially, The Prairies are the most prosperous (oil and resource money). Winters are mildest in southern Ontario and Brittish columbia. Winters are harsh elsewhere. Major centers like Toronto and Vancouver are very multicultural and cosmopolitain. Quebec is a wonderful place but facility in French is recomended. If you can master french (a small step for a spanish speaker) it has the most liberal attitudes in the country.
We too have a flawed political system that will improve immesurably once our current government is ousted peacfully in the next election.
