Julius Fondem, the Marketing Manager at Frozenbyte discussed the Wii U bit, and how the console packs a lot more punch than gamers are giving it credit for. 

In an interview with gamerxtreme, Fondem was asked if the Wii U was more powerful than the public seems to believe.

“We have really enjoyed working with the Wii U hardware. It was rather easy to port our modern proprietary engine to it, and it does pack the punch to bring to life some really awesome visuals.

The Wii U is a very modern console with a lot of RAM which helped us out a lot during development. The hardware capabilities have improved quite a lot from the original Wii, and the Wii U is a truly powerful console. The console is definitely more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PS3.”

Once again another developer shows some love for Wii U. But Nintendo still has it’s work cut out for them. Ubisoft is disappointed with the sales of ZombiU, and third-parties like EA and Bethesda won’t develop for the system.

Nintendo needs to make sure they have a strong second half to the year and drive the install base up to bring on more third-party publishers.

Yeah, it is powerful, but I think that won't stop people from comparing it to more powerful consoles.

I think it is a powerful console as well - at least for my tastes. I expect Nintendo to show us what the console can do in time. I'm already impressed with the likes of X.

I own a Wii U and am getting a PS4 day one and I'll tell you if EA and Ubisoft make half-asked ports and lackluster games at the launch or launch window of PS4 I won't buy those games either. I'm so sick of EA touting their own horn as if they did something special on Wii U. You want your games to sell make better games and stop making ports and blaming Nintendo for your F-UP's! I respect Ubisoft for attempting something new on the Wii U but am truly disappointed because they used such a small team to develop a game that could've been amazing, Zombi U. I own and love the game but know for a fact that the game needed way more polishing and fine tuning than what they did and the only way that could've happened is with a bigger team. Anyway, the Wii U is powerful enough for me as long as my games are in HD, if I want super mind-blowing visuals that's what I have a PC and will have my PS4 for, I bought the Wii U for innovative fun games like The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Monster Hunter etc...

Power means nothing if no one is willing to throw a lot of money behind development for it. If you're expecting Nintendo to throw $50 million behind games, you will likely be disappointed. They are a very conservative company. If they did, I would be in heaven. Nintendo polish is second to none. But I doubt it very much.

This again? Who cares what developers say at this point? Just show us the damn games that prove it. Nintendos upcoming titles all look amazing, lets see what 3rd parties can do

At least someone is giving the Wii U some credit.. The only thing is.. no one cares... it's all about the games.. (Until it's not apparently) so the thing is.. the third parties need to impress us with their showings.. (Well not me.. I was fairly impressed by what I saw.. but others)
