Was about to post this.I saw it on GI (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-07-08-does-nintendo-stand-a-chance-this-holiday)

There´s also an interview with Peter Moore: "The lack of online engagement that we see on Wii U [is troubling]," says Moore. "It's so integral to what we do. They're so small it's hardly worth running the servers. It seems like a box that's out of sync with the future of EA - which is one that gives a real social feel to our games. The Wii U feels like an offline experience right now."

To be expected when Nintendo puts such a low priority on their online infranstructure.

What gives you the impression they put a low priority on it?

It's just missing so many features that you would expect. The lack universal ID structure across 3DS and Wii U should be a guarantee and expectation, yet everything is still disconnected and disjointed (at least there's no more awful friend codes on Wii U). Lack of a trophy or achievement system, lack of party chat, separate stores (I wouldn't call the current 3DS shop much of a shop), etc. Not to mention it's going to be further behind with Xbone's dedicated servers and PS4's Gaikai service.

There really are deficiencies in every area.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

lol, didn't they say earlier that they were happy with the attach rate? Make up your mind fu****s

Does attach rate matter when WiiU sales are so low?

Did Ubisoft expect WiiU to sell so little this year?

Attach rate means absolutely nothing in this case. When did they say the were happy? A few months after launch, when WiiU was only just beginning to crash?

this, even if they were happy, thats in the past. they not happy now

It's easy to say in hindsight that the game wouldn't become a success.

But at the time everybody thought it would sell airly well. 1-1.5 million was probably a reasonable target lifetime (some copies at discount) and upside was +2 million.

Probably it cost $20 million. All AAA games cost at least $20 million. That requires 1 million copies at full price to break even.

The problem is - in term of production value this game isn't worth anywhere near $20 million. Mediocre graphics, very restricted multiplayer, no (rendered) cutscenes, nothing. I suspect this game turned out so expensive because development was a MESS.

thats because the budget wasnt big, ubisoft said it them selfs. thats what makes this even worse, they couldnt turn a profit on a low budget game

"As we've always said when there is such an innovation, the need is not to have big production value but to concentrate on the innovation," Guillemot added. "This is what we are trying on Rayman and ZombiU."

it does not look like it was a high budget game so either they spent more than they should or this is just an excuse to stop making games for WiiU as it did not sell what they expected it to do

either way I didn't get the first game so not that interested in a sequel :P

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

It's a fucking game with a fucking 70ish Meta score. What the fuck did Ubisoft expect?

The game doesn't even push the fucking system, and that's why it's Nintendo exclusive in the first place. Because it's a horrible game that gained popularity solely by being an exclusive Wii U launch title. No amount of hype can make a horrible game sell.

Oh Ubi, live and learn. Now bring it to 360.

So it can bomb harder. The game wouldn't have got half of the attention it got if it was a multiplat.

It has sold a little less than half a million, correct? How "little" was this budget of theres?

Let that be another lesson to Nintendo. Releasing a console with no first party games so that companies like EA and Ubisoft get a chance to thrive with half assed efforts isn't the brightest idea.

red steel had an even lower meta and did twice better, or even more.

Wow looks like 3rd party support really pays out on the Wii U. Ok to be fair the game was kinda shitty so I guess thats their own fault. I wonder how Watch_Dogs will do on Wii U compared to other current gen systems. And how long Ubisoft is going to support it, and with what kind of games?

The Divison and The Crew aren´t comming to the Wii U I wonder how long they will bother to port Assassins Creed over

hows it going to do? is this a serious inquiry? its gonna get blown away. just most of the multiplats so far. THe real question is how it will do compared to the other next gen consoles, especially since the game will be bundled with some PS4s

If I had to guess, the WiiU version will sell significantly less than the PS4 version. Might come close to the One version, although I doubt it.

Do not say "the one" never say that please

I think it will sell even less then the Xbox version
