"It's so integral to what we do. They're so small it's hardly worth running the servers. It seems like a box that's out of sync with the future of EA - which is one that gives a real social feel to our games. The Wii U feels like an offline experience right now." |
To be expected when Nintendo puts such a low priority on their online infranstructure.

What gives you the impression they put a low priority on it?

It's just missing so many features that you would expect. The lack universal ID structure across 3DS and Wii U should be a guarantee and expectation, yet everything is still disconnected and disjointed (at least there's no more awful friend codes on Wii U). Lack of a trophy or achievement system, lack of party chat, separate stores (I wouldn't call the current 3DS shop much of a shop), etc. Not to mention it's going to be further behind with Xbone's dedicated servers and PS4's Gaikai service.
There really are deficiencies in every area.
