I would say Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider (2013), and Metro Last Light are 3 examples of this recently.  Great games that go unnoticed on forums for the most part.

It's not even with exclusives only, as I've recently noticed that a particular segment is down-playing Destiny pretty hard.

Personally, exclusivity doesn't mean that I'll alter my opinion. I'm not much of an Uncharted or LBP fan but I'd love to play Halo or Pikmin, for example. I'm not going to pretend one way or another.

What I find really, really annoying, though, is when people attempt to refute your honest opinion by calling you a "fanboy" without any basis at all. I don't like Killzone because it's an exclusive, I like it because it fits in perfectly with my gaming tastes--someone telling me that I only like it because it's a Playstation game just pisses me off.

As compared to what?

I like Sony's styles of gameplay in general.

It's a matter of point of view I guess. Let's take LittleBigPlanet, it's a platformer with bad bad bad controls and that's unforgivable to me so I do get the impression it gets praised just because it's an exclusive or at least that its flaws are overlooked because of it.

All you have to do is look at timed exclusive games to get your answer.

I believe if you have a favorite console (which I believe saying everyone does is a sound observation) then you feel some pride in the fact your console has games that another doesn't. However, most people don't base their favorite console on name by itself. Halo fans love their Halo while InFamous fans love it. People initially liked their favorite console because of the games in most cases. So if they were switched then they would probably move to the other console.

Counter argument: yes, they would flip-flop in their hate/praise because a lot of people started out with 1 console. That console had its exclusive games that the people played. Because they had those games and not others, they started liking those games more. For example I got a PS3 with God of War. It was one of the few games I originally had. Because of that I really enjoy God of War. If I would have gotten an Xbox 360 however, I would have probably gotten Gears of War and therefore enjoy it more than I do now (not saying I don't enjoy it). And I wouldn't have been playing God of War as much so I wouldn't enjoy it quite as much.

I feel like there are too many variables to your question. Is this a sudden switch at the current moment or a switch at the very beginning of the generation? If it were a switch at the beginning of the generation, I feel Sony supporters would still be Sony supporters and Xbox fans still Xbox fans. However, if they switched right now then I believe most people would stick with the games. (This is assuming most people's console preference comes from games and not other factors and that they significantly like one's games over the other).

InFamous, killzone, or even Ryse.

Far Cry 3 has a 90+ metacritic and has sold 5.16m.  Rated better than the most recent killzone and infamous by a good margin and demolishes them in software sold yet we talk about those games more.  Ryse is being dubbed as QTE the game yet it gets talked about more than "The Division".  Why?  because it is an exclusive.  

Some people would probably still hate the games, while others would be praising them.

Guarantee I can find 10x the threads and conversations about InFamous over Tomb Raider and Far Cry combined.  For a while the only reason people made threads about Tomb Raider is becasue people was saying it was a clone of Uncharted.  Not shocked you are in here though.  I was expecting you at some point ;)
