Forums - Nintendo - Call of Duty: Ghosts coming to Wii U after all?

http://www.idigitaltimes.com/articles/18618/20130701/call-duty-ghosts-release-date-wii-u.htm

Call of Duty Ghosts release date news time. The latest iteration of near future war is coming to every platform imaginable, and we can finally and joyouslyreport that Wii U is one of those imaginable platforms. That's because Official Nintendo Magazine UK has included a full-page spread about the game, revealing that, despite the relatively poor results of Call of Duty Black Oops I Did It Again on Wii U, Activision is going to give it another shot with the Call of Duty Ghosts release date for Wii U on November 5.

The Call of Duty Ghosts release date for Wii U will likely be the same as it is for other platforms: November 5, 2013. Chances are, it will launch on the two new consoles slightly later -- expect at least one of them to come out just before Thanksgiving. But a day-and-date release for Wii U makes sense. It's been out for a year (or it will have been by November). There's no reason Call of Duty: Ghosts Wii U won't be the first next gen version of the game to release.

The official confirmation of the Call of Duty Ghosts Wii U edition comes from Britannia's Official Nintendo Magazine, which is, indeed, relatively official. It's not owned by Nintendo (which is a good thing; press shills suck), but it has access and a long reputation. And their August issue just went out to subscribers, among whom I am not numbered, because I only want to get August things in August. And in said issue, they published that full page spread of Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U.

The Call of Duty Ghosts release date on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U is November 5, 2013.

The Call of Duty Ghosts Wii U page in ONM doesn't officially state a release date, but November 5, 2013 is far and away the ghost most likely date. The piece also stated that Infinity Ward, not Treyarch, was handling the Wii U version, suggesting that Activision doesn't consider it a port, but one of the flagship versions alongside Xbox One and PlayStation, Fourth Of Its Name. The feature also included the excellent pun "Zero Bark Thirty," because, y'know, Call of Duty Dog.

Assuming the Call of Duty Ghosts release date and Call of Duty Ghosts Wii U is real, and a major outlet like Official Nintendo Magazine doesn't put much truck in rumors and speculation, this is pretty solid news for Nintendo. Not because Call of Duty Ghosts is cool or anything, but because any shoring up of third party support is a good sign for the system. Ubisoft is totally on board for this year, at least. Activision has been more hedgy. EA backed out but is slowly sidling back over towards Nintendo. All these are good signs. Call of Duty Ghosts Wii U would be the nail on the cake.

As long as people actually bought Call of Duty Ghosts Wii U. Which is far from a sure thing. Black Oops I Did It Again did badly enough that Activision skipped the DLC. But it had already been out for six months or so. The kind of people who buy consoles on day one and also care about Call of Duty are the kind of people who bought it on day one for Xbox 360 or PS3. They didn't need it for Wii U. The Call of Duty: Ghosts release date is a different story. It will most likely be the first next gen version of Call of Duty to hit the streets, if only by a few weeks. And that means... I'm not sure exactly, but I think it's good for Nintendo.

this game better sell well on Wii U or there won't be any other CoD on the console, and that'll probably hurt 3rd party games over all on Wii U

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

that last paragraph makes no sense. The writer has NO idea when those new consoles will launch, word of the street is PS4 might be ready to go by october, so it could release day and date as the other versions, even if that is not the case, lets be real here. "next gen"? Wii U version will be closer to PS360 than the PS4xb1 will be. So it wont be a next gen version at all.

Black Ops 2 was on Wii U and that sold under 200K (according to VGC), I doubt CoD Ghost will do that much better.

Very true, and even more reason why this game needs to do better. BUT, hopefully this game will launch the same date as on the other platforms, and the instal base for the Wii U will be bigger now - so more people will be online playing it (which is a major selling point for the game)

it could double the numbers...which still isnt good, but its something

honestly i dont see how it could do much better on WIi U, im not trolling but the people interested in the game already have a system to play it on, eve IF they buy a WIi U they will not get that version of the game because they are going to want to continue to play with their buds.

Too late the COD crowd has moved to PS360 and now PS4 (and I guess xbone). Activisions mistake was not having COD4 come out on Wii when COD become popular. When people couldn't buy it (myself included) we moved onto other consoles.

Can we have one, ONE single third party announcement without the old "W!ll b0mB !!!1" phrase over and over again ?

it will bomb though unless Activision and/or Nintendo can create a new audience for the game on Wii U. This will be a challenge.

(this coming from a Nintendo fan here)
