Aren't they using PC hardware though? You might as well be comparing laptop power to PS3/360.

Tablet is just a generic term for the form of the device.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Wait, but isn't a tablet a handheld? Or do you mean the gaming-centric handheld?
Like, what if Nintendo just came out with a tablet for their next portable, would that make it not a handheld? I'm confused.

This is probably closer to the truth. The current generation of kids won't grow up playing on a 3DS or Vita but are getting accustomed to touch interfaces on iOS and Android devices for their portable gaming fix. Older or more established gamers may lament the absence of buttons (and some devices/add-ons may address this), but as developers build games around touch and kids grow up using touch screens the majority will cease to care. |
I was thinking this as well. I remember for a long time FPS were the domain of PCs because dual analog was too imprecise in comparison but games like Goldeneye and most significantly Halo got a whole generation playing FPS on consoles and now those that grew up playing that way think it's the best console scheme. Wouldn't surprise me if in ten years, the ten year olds of today were swearing by touch screen controls over dual analogs for FPSs.

I know, but when most consumers think of a tablet they think iPad or another ARM based variant (not that most know what ARM even is). I'm pretty sure that's what EA meant with this statement considering most of their mobile games are for iOS/Android.
With Windows 8 tablets you could probably play Crysis along with a whole host of PC games with better graphics then current gen.
