less than 1000

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/call-of-duty-black-ops-2-goes-offline-on-nintendo-wii-u/

It was less than 1000 a week after launch. Dear god, there must be less than 100 people playing now. I wonder if you can even find games properly.

the article says you cant, which explains why we've yet to see a DLC for Wii U version. THere is more to this than how much copies are being sold. If people arent playing the game online, COD we talking here, we are less likely to see support for future installments, even if every version of it comes out, it STILL is the inferior version by virtue of not having access to DLC

That article is garbage.  Many Wii U's purchased at launch were Christmas presents.  The COD Wii U user base didn't hit it's peak until after Christmas.  One week after BLOPS launch there were barely any Wii U's in the wild.  The typical number of BLOPS2 players online now is several thousand, and it is no problem to get a match.  Matchmaking is instant.  It's no 360 scenario mind you, but it is "OK".

got a link, not that i dont believe you. but im not going to take the word of a random stranger

If I'm bored I'll snap a photo for you the next time I'm online.  But in the very least you should appreciate that the article is pointless, being from a week or two after launch when there were only 400k or so Wii U's in the wild, many of which were still in their box for Christmas.

thats fair, i expect Acti was thinking there would be more WIi Us in the wild, i guess alot of people taught that.

As I said in the other thread, there's 2806 online right now.

If retailers keep dropping the price for them, they will start to look stupid. I think the best thing to do is just have a good sale for Black Friday and hope that games and that sale push it where they want it to go. Then make sure there is some sort of release monthly until SMash comes out.

Whadya mean until Smash comes out? They can't just release Smash or any one game for that matter and call it quits. They need to have a steady flow games throughout the Wii U's lifetime.

why is the price comparison in pounds and dollars?

Why did it take this long for someone to spend more than .0000000000000002 seconds looking at the images and realize this? I just went through all the posts in this thread facepalming over and over until I got to yours.

OP trolled the rest of you guys hard.

I'm not saying it will be favourite by default just because of the lower price. I'm saying it already has an advantage on the price aspect.

"wii u is the cheapest 8th gen option and the average consumer will favour it."

That was what you said. If you only meant to say that the price will give it an advantage, fine. I was just reponding to what you actually wrote.

the average consumer WILL favour the cheapest option, and that is an advantage for wii u.

*Sigh*

"I'm not saying it will be favourite by default just because of the lower price"

"the average consumer WILL favour the cheapest option"

Not even sure what to tell you at this point. Just keep believing whatever makes you happy I guess.

Of course Sonic is a system seller bro.. I am and still interested in Sonic Lost World.. Mario and Sonic games sold average 15 million worldwide, I'm sure people picked those games up with a console.. Here's for the best results, Cheers bro

You also need to remember that another iconic character is in those games, he's called Mario, far more iconic than Sonic. Now look at the Sonic-only games on Wii, and Wii has nearly 100 million units and those games sold 2 - 3 million. Sonic alone being a system sellar? I don't think so.

Right so why would Nintendo go out of their way to get an exclusive SONIC deal? Hmm system seller I think so. I don't own the Wii U or 3DS, but Sonic The Lost World has made me consider buying a Wii U. Exclusive title in hopes of selling systems. Sonic brand has more success on Nintendo than any of the other 2 companies. Regardless if it pertains to you or your opinion; Sonic is going to push systems for Nintendo hence the fact it's an exclusive partnership Nintendo needed when its "Mario brand" has struggled to push consoles.

I agree with this.. and you know I love it how everyone says games and price points/cuts  sell systems(Games mainly) and yet when you tell them Wii U is going to finally get some games.. and will be the cheapest.. now their tune changes.. all of a sudden power matters.. and more memory.. when the fact is.. you can just hook up a hard drive to your Wii U and get as much memory as a PS4 most likely.. anyway.. we will see what happens when the holiday season gets here.. the Wii U actually has some games that matter..

it wont be the cheapest, thats the problem, there is still WIi, PS360

Much like Zero I met it would be the cheapest 8th Gen option... and as thus may go over better once it gets the games this holiday season.. than the others..

i dont think the general populace is going to care whether its 7gen 8 or 100. IF we talking price, then PS360&Wii are going to play a factor. yes it could do better than PS4xb1, but what difference does that really make, if it will still get slaughtered by these old consoles, hell its getting whipped now. 360 4-1 PS3 6-1 and even dips below the WIi at some points

by that logic the general population would never buy any new console since the last gen will always be cheapest, so big falacy.

I'm also tired of repeating that current wii u sales are no parameter. the existence of wii and ps360 are not in any way the cause for wii u's low sales. the cause is lack of games, period.

Ur really generalizing too much. Sonic itself isnt a big system seller, it hasnt been since Sega Genesis but its a great support title. Meaning not a lot of people r gonna rush out to getba new console solely because of Sonic but alot of people will pick up a console for Sonic plus 3-4 other titles they really want.

stop moving goal posts, you say that people will favor the cheapest console, which MOST of the time seem to be true (GC not withstanding) so how doesnt the actual cheaper consoles on the market matter? THe general population will CONTINUE to buy the cheaper consoles as they have been doing since WIi Us been on the market. The people buying them at launch for alot of money are the hardcore fans, who dont mind shelling out several hundred bucks.

YOu can live in your bottle world all you want, PS360 and WIi being on the market DOES affect WIi U, period. Only someone in denial will lie to themselves, when someone is looking to buy a console and we are talking price, when they look on the shelves who is the cheapest? who is the most expensive? YOu mean to tell me that these systems arent effecting WIi U and it would be selling just as crappy if they didnt exist?
