But that's the thing now, no? There's a lot of XBox fans that got disappointed by the poor late gen first party support by MS, who went and picked a PS3 because of how compelling the line-up was on that console in comparison. Who's to say they won't continue with Sony moving forward?

Well..if you add up the development cost of Halo its probably the price of one mid tier Sony game and two high profile exclusives. Makes sense in the end, but Sony has a lot of high profile games and the list is just growing even more now that MS forced them to not depend upon third parties. People think thats exploited Sony, but its only really made them more powerful. Uncharted, GT and GOW offeset a lot of those sales and that money all goes back to first party. MS only Collects off of Halo, Forza and Fable so if you think about it, its about even with Sony gaining the slight edge on sales consistency with GT.

You would think so, but most of the curves for Sony 1st party games don't support the theory (most are constant), so ultimately it begs the question "why did they pick up a PS3?". Odds are many saw it as a great opportunity to have an integrated blu-ray player, get some PSN games and maybe even upgrade their PS3 phat. Some gamers dropped out and some new ones came in, that could explain the consistency in the curves rather than a drop, but MS's halo didn't drop either so it begs the question if the xbox fans really left.

I won't deny that some conversion work was commenced on the PS3 thanks to a steady flow of new content, but ultimately again it's my strong belief that the Americas don't work on that strategy anymore (the PS2 strategy), and now live off the xbox strategy (the big blockbusters). Looking at COD and Halo it's not so far-fetched.

@S.T.A.G.E. It sure did make them more powerful, for sure, and on the very long run it will help them. But until Sony can fend MS off on the level of Halo, in Americas and in the UK it will remain a tough battle.

Anyone concerned that an oversaturation of first and third party games could hurt the market? I mean allthese games coming out can't sell in the millions...

It's called Captain Tsubasa.   I grew up watching this series!  Loved it as a kid!.   I have the entire series.     :)

Not yet, getting one in November for DKC: Tropical Freeze. Have been playing on my friend's Wii U though.

I nearly got one early this year due to low price until i asked myself which game I wanted to play. I might get one when Zelda U is out.

Yeah... what I think (or hope, anyway) he's saying is that the PS3 hardware was no longer selling at a loss in 2010, which is true:
