Forums - Nintendo - Iwata’s investor approval rating drops down to 77.26%

Nintendo CEO, Satoru Iwata, approvel rating drop about 30% from investors. It used to be at 90.96%.

First Iwata get annoyed at the media, now this. Nintendo things isn't looking good for you ight now. Even Microsoft is starting be in a better light compare to you with region free and reverse on their policies (as far as we know).

You need to bounce back and fast. Re-release a better version of the console for third party, have a huge press conference soley focus on the Wii U, similar to the PS4 reveal. As much I love Sony, the market will be boring as s**t without you guys.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

I don't think they can re-release the console, that would be a big middle finger to the early adopters.

E3 was all about the U. Haters don't need another conference.

Why everyone hates Iwata? Sure he has made some mistakes, but every single CEO has made them.

Yup. I wouldn't buy another Nintendo home console if they pulled a stunt like this. They have more than enough money to sit out the WiiU and pull another Wii in the Next Generation. Burning their loyal customers like this would ruin any trust I have in the company.

I was optimistic about Iwata before E3, but after... I don't know what to believe of what he says. Especially the third party situation is terrible and worrying. It is like Nintendo self and their second party's are really the only companies out there working on Wii U games. Yes there are games like SMTxFE, Sonic and W101 but those companies get paid by Nintendo to develop for Wii U, they don't make Wii U games because they want to. I don't care about games like Wolvenstein/Thief/The Division not coming to Wii U, they won't sell at all and Nintendo gamers don't want games like that. But now even the next Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3 (although the series sells excellent on their handhelds) are skipping Wii U because Nintendo decided not to listen to third parties when making Wii U. And maybe this is the worst about Iwata: he said third parties will 'regret skipping Wii U' for their games... based on what? It never happened in the past. So that means Wii U won't get important third party games for the coming 2/3 years (since making games can take that long or longer) IF Wii U suddenly proves itself by selling millions of third party games (which of course, will not happen).

I was hoping to be a PC/WiiU gamer this generation because of the big promises made by Nintendo, but it's not going to happen. I'll have to buy a PS4 eventually for important third party games.

People are scapegoating him. Nobody really understands why the Wii U is floundering, so people are putting all the blame on Iwata. They think that if he gets replaced then everything will get better but people are being very simple minded of the situation.

pfft, investors. When all you care about is the short-term bottom line, of course you're going to resent one of the few people in the industry dedicated to long-term value preservation.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The 3rd party situation is exactly the way Reggie described it. 3rd parties are now waiting for Nintendo to drive the install base. This has little to do with Nintendo listening to 3rd parties as it has to do with a divide in philosophies. Nintendo is going after a low-end device with great content, the competition is going with a mixed-bag of content on much higher-end devices.

You will never get the games you have on the competition on the U because the games don't sell on Nintendo consoles, not even did they on the gamecube. Ergo, it's a pipe dream. The sooner you wake up from it, the more satisfied you will be as a Nintendo gamer.

Iwata is doing fine and holding to the old Nintendo philosophy wich is also good (like not to become third party only and not to develop on smart phone and stuff... But Nintendo should have been way more ambitious after the big cash in from Wii and DS. With a slightly more powerful machine (with a price comparable to the competitors), and the creation of more studios to support the console, Nintendo could have aimed at becoming the market leader again. Probably not by a lot, but still...
