Looks pretty cool, ive seen it get critisized for being too scripted but Uncharted/God of War had alot of moments like that and I loved those games. Speaking of God of War, I wonder if this will be considered the Xbox counterpart.

Ryse had more QTS in its 7 minutes video than entire Uncharted 1+2 games combined

Is the whole game like that tho? I thought it was just a demo showing off all the combos

I dont know, they showed the combat at E3, and im guessing since this is a war game we'll be seeing alot of combat and thus alot of QTEs

No it wouldn't Crytek confirmed in a Machinima interview there wouldnt be it was for demo purposes.

They also said the QTEs were unfailing because they didn't wanna frustrate the player. Tells us a lot about the nature of the game development. Being that this game is Kinetic related, it wouldn't surprise me

I'm sorry i do not folllow what are you saying?

Uncharted's QTE were like a fighting game. You press a counter button to evade and then fight. God of war's QTE were mainly boss specific and was not a main part of the game. But ryse seems to have lots of qte. If they are smart then they should introduce demons / dark souls type (lightly) fighting in ryse. Otherwise its a qte game.

Please, read MB1025 post! (Although I think people chose to ignore it)

If they would get rid of those god awful quick time events then it could turn out to be a decent game, but for now I have no interest in buying it.

LMAO at how desperately that landing scene is trying to be the Normandy beach scene from Saving Private Ryan. XD

LMAO at those people who clearly arent interested in this game.

If they were they would know this whole QTE talk makes these posters look stupid as hell.

Learn about Ryse first then post.

LOL.

E3 2013 saw a lot of great games this year, and one of the more gory, yet visually stunning games had to be Crytek's Ryse: Son of Rome.

In a closed doors demo of the upcoming Xbox One title, we had the chance to get an inside look at what people can expect from this game. Yes, there is going to be a large amount of violence, and that was evident with the demo Microsoft showed off at their press conference.

But there definitely seems to be more to this game than has been revealed so far. The demo only showcased a handful of combos for taking down enemies, but the developers on hand promised that there will be nearly 20 different ways to eliminate your opponents.

The combat system looks like it will lend itself just fine to players, but it will need to be one that is varied if it hopes to keep people's attention over the course of a long campaign.

We asked the developers about the violence in the game, and they said it's there to represent the time period in history and to do justice for what war was really like then. But, they did say the violence was not something they wanted to dwell on from a gameplay standpoint.

As you would expect history to play an important role in the narrative of the game and creation of the world, Crytek said they wanted to be very historically based with the elements that were in this game.

Everything you will see in this game, is going to be the product of historical research and evidence, with of course, some fictional liberties taken as well.

In addition, people can expect to see some element of gladiator fighting in another mode of Ryse: Son of Rome. While the developers on hand were cagy about those details, they did say there will be an element of that in the game.

This will be an interesting element to the game, but Crytek will need to be smart about how they implement gladiator matches.

Ryse: Son of Rome is set to hit the Xbox One this holiday season.

It's funny how both Sony and Microsoft are coppying each others licences to create a licence status quo : Driveclub looks like it's aime at being the Forza of PS4 and Ryse looks like it aims at being the God of War of Xbox One.

Good, it'll make them search further for originality and also make them have a competition like Battefield/Modern Warfare had

i thought exactly the same lol

Combat looks brutal indeed, mind numbingly brutal, press x then y then a and watch the scripted kill, rinse and repeat. This looks as inspired as half of the waggle fest 3rd party games released on the Wii. Thank God, MS paid a ton of money for timed exclusivity for Titanfall, which looks very mainstream, because if XB1 had to rely on this game and a watered down version of Forza to be their launch sellers they would be screwed.
