Combat looks brutal indeed, mind numbingly brutal, press x then y then a and watch the scripted kill, rinse and repeat. This looks as inspired as half of the waggle fest 3rd party games released on the Wii. Thank God, MS paid a ton of money for timed exclusivity for Titanfall, which looks very mainstream, because if XB1 had to rely on this game and a watered down version of Forza to be their launch sellers they would be screwed.
