I absolutely think 3D World is graphically lazy. It looks bland and detail-less as hell. Bayonetta 2 does look good, but that's not being developed by Nintendo. Mario Kart 8 does look nice, I'll give you that, but NSMBU, Smash Bros, 3D World, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, all fall far short of what should be possible on them system. Nintendo clearly aren't trying on the graphical front.

Sorry, but Pikmin 3 looks gorgeous. Could it look "better"? Sure. But it looks fantastic, and I can't wait to play it.

It definitely looks very nice, but they really could have made more of an effort with the ground textures.

If X is as great as Xenoblade it should be one of the 8th gens best games.

Yes! Xenoblade was a freaking awesome game! Great battle system, story, content, scale and scope! Played it for 100 hours or so and loved every minute of it. Monolith, yeah!!!!

Yeah, took me about 90 hours on my playthrough. Top notch game, one of the 7th gen's best.

It is a graphical comparison thread, so no point in bringing Wii U games in it.

Not true. There's more to graphics than technology. Wii U might end up producing some of the 8th gen's most beautiful games, like the Wii did in the 7th with Muramasa and Kirby's Epic Yarn.

You can't ignore the technical side. Wii U just can't stand up with PS4/XB1 in that respect.

Thats true, but you cant ignore what nintendo and their first parties can do with what they have to work with. Look at X, it looks like a next gen game and not only above the wii, but on par with what the xbox and ps4 have shown me so far.

From an artistic point X looks amazing. But from a technical side it looks alot inferior to Ryse, Forza 5 or Quantum Break. Its obvious. Bland textures, Low resolution, Pop in, less scenery. The list is pretty long.

Technically its not that close.

Wii U owners just can't accept that.

You make it sound as if Wii U owners or potential Wii U owners are somehow barred from owning another system.  I plan to buy a Wii U, knowing full well that the PS4 (which I will also buy) is more powerful.  I also couldn't give a shit.

I buy systems for games.  And I find it funny that you all are having a hard time picking which game looks best.  Killzone, Division, MGSV, BF4, etc.  The graphics are ALL good on those games.  Once that happens, guess what... you have to look at other things to know which game you will buy.  Gameplay, art direction, new experiences, story, etc. etc.

By the way, am I the only one who notices a good amount of fog in the division?  Is that on purpose?

I'd put my money on MGSV and The Division.

Eh, Quantic's tech demos showcase the engine, which don't usually differ greatly from their games. In such a case, I understand why it's used. Hell, some of the best PC engines/games are first showcased as tech demos, and many times, we go nuts over that too.

Like I said it's an increadibly impressive tech demo, but it's just not a game and as such is no more aplicable to this thread than say Epic's Infiltrator demo. Tech demos are great, but they aren't games.

@zarx: can you post some links for me? I'd like to look at those I've heard chatter but not seen personally...

But if we will see games looking like such comparable tech demos next gen is looking all the sweeter on MS/Sony consoles! I only watched the MS and Sony conferences with any attention span really. While the topic says games I don't mind people posting tech demos from e3 showing next gen graphical capability for a reference point or comparison as it only makes me more excited about next gen. Honestly before e3 I wasn't sure there would be much distinguishable difference in graphics as early tech reports didn't have better hardware than my mid range pc. (6 months to a year ago tech reports)

I didn't see witcher 3 during e3, but from what I've seen since puts it in my top 10 or top 5. MGS V was less impressive to me than Forza and PS4 AAA non racing games. Still great graphics, but Infamous second son more impressive to me due to populated world and capabilities of player interaction with it... now if MGS V was in a populated area with destruction I'd be more impressed... but a sandbox in an arid environment not so much... to me it was the base graphics to be expected next gen.

Of course not, but the thread asked for the best graphics. In such a case, I don't see how a tech demo wouldn't apply.

technically the thread asks "Which next-gen game is the graphics king?" I am pretty sure that QD aren't making a full game out of the tech demo. I personally think there is an important destinction between a game and a tech demo.

MGS V will look better in it's final form the E3 footage was just the current assets running on PC 1080p 60fps. Aparently they haven't done the next gen improvements such as tesselation etc.

It's a pity Nvidia haven't released direct feed footage of the Witcher 3 tech demonstration from behind closed doors http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SpPqXdzl7g The Witcher 3 does look amazing, tho I think it would look better without the shapen filter.

Here is Infiltrator (was shown again behind closed doors, they also had an updated version of the Elemental demo on Oculus rift which was apparently pretty amazing) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dO2rM-l-vdQ alternatively if you want to watch it without the shitty youtube compression ruining the image quality you can download it from here http://www.gamersyde.com/news_13934_en.html.

Deep Down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWIS8x0Sjg8 this one might actually end up as a game http://www.gamersyde.com/news_deep_down_trailer-13824_en.html

I bet Battlefield 4 and Witcher 3 on PC with max settings look the best, but on console...

I don't know....they all look roughly the same. Gun to my head, I'd vote Forza because it's so fluid.

I have a doubt, I havent noticed much differences between what was FFvsXIII on ps3 and what now is FFXV on PS4, then again, I havent seen any comparisons and I thought the last trailer I saw from it was pretty good looking

That's becasue they never showed much of it running on PS3

VS (keep in mind these are taken from a youtube video so the image quality is quite low)
