I'll be honest I voted yes although I feel the punishment was a bit too much. The authorities jumped into it too much and rather than investigating and seeing who the suspect was they just threw him into jail and is thinking about a 8 year prison service which is EXTREME.

A small fine amount would of been sufficient. But the kid saying that was in the wrong though especially with what has been happening in the US lately.

@Bolded That is not my decision to make as I am neutral and would not want to decide on something like that but I wouldnt blame the authorities if they do fine people for saying tasteless jokes such as that nor would I enforce or encourage confinement for something like this.

If you're only allowed to say what other people determine is acceptable for you to say, then freedom of speech has been completely eliminated. There is no inbetween with something like that. You can't be "kinda free."

Not accepting tasteless jokes would be fine. You're welcome to ignore them, or ask the person saying them to stop. Suggesting that it's fine if the government takes action against people because they said something you didn't want to hear is not okay. Not to mention the fact that if it became illegal for people to say offensive things, stand-up would be awful lol.

Like I said, the authorities jumped the gun on their decision but I can understand why they would look at this at all instead of turning a blind eye. Doesnt matter if the kid didnt know what the hell was going on in the news - still should of known better than to say something like that - you dont say that you'll kill people and expect to get away with it, someone will always be watching and they will report you.
