I'd call it "otherworldly", but that's just splitting hairs.

That one would look crappy though, it came from PS2. They may call it a HD remaster but the graphics aren't really improved |
That's the point of this thread.
Personally, I don't mind bad textures if the game is good...just look at some of the Xenoblade's textures...
I don't think textures are an importat aspect of a video game and some people discuss endlessly about what version of a game has better textures, even if that doesn't affect the gameplay experience.
Now if you asked me: wouldn't you prefer Xenoblade with better textures? My answer would be yes but only because the game is good, if the game was bad, I wouldn't play it even if it had the best textures of the world.
The conclusion of all this is that I play the games that I like, even if they have bad textures
I actually don't mind low-res textures, except, I believe, when I know the hardware can do more, for example, when I play those first gen titles from the X360 I get incredibly bothered because of the awful textures most of them have. It's funny, because I don't mind playing 3D N64 and PS1 games at all nowadays, but I do when playing some of the X360's first gen titles.

Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for, but for me I cannot stand playing a game with crappy graphics. If I had a choice of very bad textures and low res or great textures and 1080p I would choose the latter everytime. I have the first tomb raider on psn as a psone classic and despite having played it when it first came out and thinking the graphics were amazing and the gameplay being pretty great for the time, I can barely play for 10 minutes now because I can't stand the graphics.
But I'm a graphics whore. I'm a sucker for stunning graphics.
The results in the poll are kind of interesting. I never thought I see a draw between the two main options.

it's still a game developed 100% with gamecube in mind. |
It has Gamecube graphics, but it's still a Wii game.

it's a gamecube port on the wii. just like pikmin new play control.
I don't truly care about graphics or the quality of textures. I don't mind N64 style games.
That said, if they are on N64. Today, I would find it unacceptable for a new game to look like that. I expect some kind of improvement each generation. I also do not see how a game would be more enjoyable if it has a low resolution. What could possibly be the reason to enjoy Battlefield 3 on low settings more, when you can also play the exact same thing on high settings? What's the gain?

Twilight Princess is a GameCube, and therefore 6th gen, game. It's developed for GameCube, until they figured they could use it to sell Wii's. GameCube version was delayed, port was made for Wii and released first.
