I actually don't mind low-res textures, except, I believe, when I know the hardware can do more, for example, when I play those first gen titles from the X360 I get incredibly bothered because of the awful textures most of them have. It's funny, because I don't mind playing 3D N64 and PS1 games at all nowadays, but I do when playing some of the X360's first gen titles.
