"Genital Jousting is releasing in Australia when it leaves Early Access this week"
Sigh, keep up the good work, Australia.
I am very surprised this made it over here.

"Final Fantasy XV will support native 4K and 8K resolutions and HDR10 on the PC, will come with built-in mod support, will be compatible with high-resolution displays, and will receive a benchmark tool on February 1st."
Pre-order bonuses aside, this is pretty cool.
Having a free (I am assuming it is going to be free) benckmarking tool is a good way to promote your PC game.

"Book of the Dead is a first-person interactive story showing the graphical capabilities of the Unity Engine"
Wait, a game that doesn't look like trash, say it ain't so.
Hopefully there is a game here, and not just photo-real environments.

"Moreover, all of the natural environment assets in the demo are photogrammetry-scanned real-world objects and textures. The majority of them come from Quixel Megascans, a publicly available library of high-quality scanned assets, which is used widely by high-end game production and film VFX professionals alike."
Yeah, that makes sense.
Photogrammetry is really neat; I look forward to seeing it being used to make games, going forward.

Looks like it is being made by the same people who did the Adam, Unity demo.
Hopefully we can see more gamey, games from these guys in the future.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Are you going to play these games?

Either way, they look cool.
It is hard to tell from the picture, but they look to be pretty undamaged.

Some are, but most of them are fine. Unfortunately it's the small box though for Diablo II and Lord of Destruction, rather than the big boxes, but it was like that in the listing and the price was good enough that I decided to get it anyway. I mainly got the lot for The Orange Box, Max Payne 2, Diablo, Diablo II & Lord of Destruction, NHL 96, Phantasmagoria, Carmageddon and maybe a few others.

Okay, okay.
I'll ask.
How much?

I do hope it's a game and not another tech demo. Afterall, that's why I posted it in the first place.

My only worry is how much storage would require a game like this. With current games that don't look near as good asking for more than 100GB, this one could be massive.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Well, I guess that would depend on: how large the world is, how many unique assets they use, the resolution of the textures and the bit-rate of said textures.
Someday soon we shall get a game that takes up one terabyte of storage.
I look forward to that day.

I would be willing to bet this game will be under 100GB in size.

A game of over 1TB?! Are you crazy? How much VRAM would a card need to use those massive textures? No, that won't happen anytime soon.

Besides, a game as ambitious would need to launch on consoles too (or have a crowfunding campaign as Star Citizen), and I doubt PS5/XboxWhatever will be able to handle such game.

By soon, I meant in 5 - 10 years.

You can get super high quality assets from photogrammetry pretty quickly.
I was going through a SteamVR environment yesterday, where some Valve employees had reconstructed a cemetery using photogrammetry.
Apparently, the scene took about 30 mins to shoot.
The resulting scene had about 12 - 16 (I cannot remember the exact number) 8k textures, and was made up of a few million polygons.
~450 photos were used to generate the mesh and textures.

You don't need to have the whole game into memory all at once.
Also, Virtual Texturing is pretty neat, go look it up.

Oh and about not having enough VRAM: AMD / Radeon has a 7000 USD workstation card with four SSDs strapped to it.
I could see a consumer variant of that tech come to market within a decade.
Maybe not a full terabyte on the consumer side, but something.

AMD / Radeon is partnered with Bethesda, so I could see them leveraging that partnership to bring a showcase game to market.
Doom (2016) with full res textures anyone?
