http://www.dsogaming.com/news/enter-the-gungeon-has-sold-one-million-copies-with-78-coming-from-the-pc/
Developer Dodge Roll has announced that its bullet hell dungeon crawler, Enter the Gungeon, has sold one million copies. And even though the team did not reveal any platform sale details, we can estimate the PC sales from Steamspy’s data.

DOOM appears to have sold two million copies on the PC
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/doom-two-million-copies-on-pc/
According to Steamspy’s data, DOOM has sold more than two million copies on the PC. DOOM was released in May 2016 and it took Bethesda over one year – and a number of special deals/discounts – to hit that 2 million goal. Moreover, and contrary to other publishers, Bethesda completely removed Denuvo once DOOM was cracked.

Let's go with Steam and its 269 deals. Among them we have:

Lastly, there's the Humble Store, that's having a Tinybuild Sale with an up to 80% discount. If you feel something akin to a déjà vu, it's because they already had the same sale this past May.

We rarely post stories about retro (or at least somehow old consoles), however this is a really special case. Kaze Emanuar has created a romhack via which players can create their own levels in Super Mario 64, called Super Mario 64 Maker. As said, this is a romhack, meaning that you will need a N64 emulator.

Might & Magic Showdown has been removed from Steam, servers to be shut down on July 31st
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/might-magic-showdown-has-been-removed-from-steam-servers-to-be-shut-down-on-july-31st/
Back in January, Ubisoft released Might & Magic Showdown. And in just six months, the French company decided to cancel it and has already removed it from Steam. Now that is a huge flop. And to be honest, we aren’t really surprised by such a thing as this new Might & Magic game felt like a really niche title (and the Might & Magic series is already a niche genre so… yeah… it was to be expected).

According to Steamcharts, Bluehole’s battle-royale title has managed to top Grand Theft Auto V and has climbed in the 4th place of Steam’s games with the highest peak player count of all time. Not only that, but according to Steamspy, the game closes to 5 million sold copies, even though it’s still in its Early Access program.

Blizzard reveals Overwatch and Hearthstone drop rates in South Korea
http://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-reveals-overwatch-and-hearthstone-drop-rates-in-south-korea/
Earlier this year, Blizzard revealed the drop rates for Overwatch and Hearthstonein China, as required by Chinese law. Late last week, as reported by Inven Global, it did the same for South Korea, and it turns out that the drop rates are identical.

HEVN, the game of off-world mining and politics, has been delayed
http://www.pcgamer.com/hevn-the-game-of-off-world-mining-and-politics-has-been-delayed/
We got our first look at HEVN back in February by way of a pair of teasers that hinted at something very sinister happening on the isolated planet of Naic. Developer Miga said the tale of investigation into controversial off-world mining set in humanity's dark, ugly future is inspired by games like Deus Ex and System Shock, which is never a bad place to start, and Joe seemed suitably impressed by the two-hour demo that was released last month.

Watch the Final Fight giant Abigail get warmed up for his Street Fighter 5 debut

I'd never heard of Abigail, a vicious brawler boasting biceps bigger than a Volkswagen, so I looked up his biography on the Street Fighter Wiki (he's from Canada, if you were wondering). And why am I looking up facts about a Final Fight fighter on the Street Fighter Wiki? Because "the biggest lad in all of Metro City" is coming to Street Fighter 5 as part of Season Two Character Pass on July 25.

American McGee: "stop bugging me about Alice 3"
http://www.pcgamer.com/american-mcgee-stop-bugging-me-about-alice-3/
Oh, you want a third instalment in the Alice series? That's nice, but you can stop bugging American McGee about it, please. That's the thrust of a new blogpost written by the creator, where he explicitly addresses the (horrifyingly persistent) questions he gets regarding the future of the psychedelic platformer.

Half-Life 3 would likely have ended without resolution, says Marc Laidlaw
http://www.pcgamer.com/half-life-3-would-end-without-resolution-says-marc-laidlaw/
Half-Life 3, aka the Half-Life game that doesn't exist, probably wouldn't have tied off any narrative loose ends anyway, according to series writer Marc Laidlaw. The former Valve staffer and Half-Life 2 writer said as much in a new interview over at Arcade Attack, and the reason? So that there could be more Half-Life games, of course.

>>Did anyone really thought that Half Life 3 would finish the story?

The Colonists is a settlement sim inspired by Anno and The Settlers, due next month

Developed by Codebyfire, Richard Wallis' one-person Bristol-based studio, the civilisation-crafter will launch into Steam's Early Access initiative in August.

>>I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Killing Floor 2's enemies are literally floating away

One of the things I like most about Killing Floor 2 is the way it mixes absurdity with graphic violence. This week's Weekly Outbreak—essentially a temporary mutator—goes all-in on gore and humor.

But most manufacturers sell you a slightly smaller display (23.6'' or 31.5'') to max their profits and these have both ~93 PPI. So most 24''-models have the same density as your 32'' model, not less.

You are right, I was slightly inaccurate with my first claim. I am only human, we all make mistakes. :P

But still. My panel which is 31.5" + 1440P and does have superior PPI to that of a 24" 1080P panel. - And it was advertised as 32" with 31.5" viewable area.

As for manufacturer claims. Some brands are more guilty than others, manufacturers with better reputations such as Asus seem to be pretty accurate with their claims as 23.6" panels are often advertised as 23.6" here.
I have seen 24" advertised panels actually have 24.5" viewable areas such as the Asus ROG Swift PG258Q.

ASUS puts a "25" in the model-name and describes it as 25''-monitor:

https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG258Q/

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Screen-LED-Lit-Monitor-PG258Q/dp/B06WRP3F5S

TV- and monitor-manufacturers always try to let the displays seem bigger than they are. They also love the widescreen and ultrawidescreen trend, where they can advertise with high diagonal numbers. The two-dimensional size of the display area would be much more earnest.

Same number, much less material: http://www.displaywars.com/27-inch-4x3-vs-27-inch-21x9

I think I'll settle for the Acer Predator XB271HU 27" 2K 165Hz 1440p monitor as it's £101 cheaper than the Asus one.

Edit: wow, ordering that monitor was a paint in the ass. It was more or less my bank doing a checkup to see if it was really me who bought the monitor. Filling out online forms is a waste of time.

Also I got an email from Overclockers on the "be quiet" 3 120mm fan set. Apparently they were out of stock and end of life, yet they completely allow for you to place downa  purchase and they haven't bothered to remove the eol product from the search, so now I've got to wait till tomorrow to call them up, nag them about paying me back and then ordering a new set of fans.

One of the biggest gripes I have when it comes to ordering hardware, is sites that allow you to buy EoL stock and refuse to eject it and my bank for getting too antsy about me spending my own cash.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Odd. Because it is advertised as 24" here.
Likely coming down to different advertising laws, we have a ton of consumer protections in place that forces such transparency.

With that. I would never pay $900 AUD for a 24" 1080P monitor. Regardless if it's 240hz or not.

Steep decline in cryptocurrency market has miners dumping their GPUs on Ebay
http://www.pcgamer.com/steep-decline-in-cryptocurrency-market-has-miners-dumping-their-gpus-on-ebay/
Ethereum, one of the most popular cryptocurrencies, is becoming more difficult to mine. At the same time, volatility is rearing its welcome head, and the value of Ethereum is now less than half of what it was around a month ago. As a result, profitability is way down, and some miners are putting their GPUs up for sale on second-hand sites such as Ebay, CoinDesk reports.

Soon.avi
If the market crashes and floods the market with cheap used cards, retailers might have to adjust their prices to reflect that.

And I think AMD will focus first on APUs, and then notebooks/laptops. An APU based on a quad core Zen APU plus an 560 could be a very popular solution for gaming HTPCs.

I would be happy for non APU version to be honest. Throw a discreet Radeon 550/560 with 4GB GDDR5X and pair it up with a Hex core ryzen and call it a day. Would be a good esports laptop without breaking the bank.

My bank used to lock my card down whenever I made a purchase at a store online. Told them to remove any and all blocks and not to interfere with my spending again or I will go to a different bank.
It never happened again. Haha

Yeah some retailers are better than others.
I like stores that have reliable stock levels on items, less confuffing about.

Videocardz has found out the base clock of Intel's upcoming 12-core 7920X processor, and I think it's slower than expected:

Intel’s 12-core i9-7920X features 2.9 GHz base clock
https://videocardz.com/newz/intels-12-core-i9-7920x-features-2-9-ghz-base-clock
The Core i9-7920X, the only 12-core processor from Core-X series, has been added to the official price list. The listing reveals that the base frequency of the CPU is 2.9 GHz, which makes it 400 MHz slower than 10-core i9-7900X.

The CPU is also listed with 16.5 MB L3 cache. No other specs were revealed by Intel.

This means that Intel’s 12-core i9-7920X base frequency will be lower than AMD’s 12-core Threadripper 1920X by 600 MHz.
