Destiny 2 beta confirms weapon and armor mods
http://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-beta-confirms-weapon-and-armor-mods/
With the PS4 beta for Destiny 2 going live today, we now have confirmation that weapon and armor items will be getting mods for both stats and shaders. In the first game most loot came with prepackaged perks and attributes which were selected from a pool of possibilities by an invisible dice roll. For the sequel, we know that RNG is being reduced with static rolls for gear, but to stop that from being boring, you’ll also be able to customise your gear with various mods.

Playerunknown bans popular PUBG streamer, warns that words have consequences
http://www.pcgamer.com/playerunknown-bans-popular-pubg-streamer-warns-that-words-have-consequences/
The world of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds saw a spot of drama recently when a streamer who goes by the name of Dr. DisRespect, described by Waypoint as "one of the game's most popular streamers," found himself banned after intentionally killing a teammate. It was played for laughs—the whole thing happened because there wasn't enough room to pile four players onto a motorcycle—but PUBG has a strict no-teamkilling policy, and so when it was reported, and verified by the doctor's own video, he was given the boot.

'Was it the right decision? I can't say, it was motivated by [getting] the game on store shelves,' says Ark director on price hike
http://www.pcgamer.com/was-it-the-right-decision-i-cant-say-it-was-motivated-by-getting-the-game-on-store-shelves-says-ark-director-on-price-hike/
For some, Ark: Survival Evolved's recent controversial pre-full release price hike highlights the trouble with pricing Early Access games. For others, most specifically DayZ creator Dean Hall, it's "****ing OUTRAGEOUS." But wherever you stand with the issue, the open world dino hunter's Jeremy Stieglitz has explained the premature increase is tied to the game's physical launch.

neither did I, but the MP was basically designed by a console dev team and not id, so it played pretty badly for me. Quake Champions is designed more for PC and the content isn't gated either, so I'm likely to roll with that game than DOOM. That and DOOM's player base on PC is likely dwindled.

^Hey Chazore, and the rest of you, maybe this new competition will come in handy. The prize is a four-piece set of peripherals from Corsair: a gaming chair, a keyboard, mouse and mouse mat (all three of them with RGB). It's a global contest:

http://hexus.net/tech/features/peripherals/107974-win-gaming-peripherals-upgrade-corsair/

The fact that the "gaming" chair is the most expensive product of the four is kind of sad.

I have a DX Racer King series chair anyway.
But entered, because free is free.

Thanks for the heads up.

Fallout 4 modder GengisKhanX has featured on PC Gamer previously by virtue of his Trash Collection and Beautifier Shotgun mods—both of which are designed to spruce up the otherwise messy Boston Commonwealth. His latest Main Hand Throwing Weapons and GKX Weapon Miscellany projects are, as the names probably suggest, less passive.

Careful or you'll have someone's eye out with this new Evil Within 2 'Survive' trailer
http://www.pcgamer.com/careful-or-youll-have-someones-eye-out-with-this-new-evil-within-2-survive-trailer/
A new gameplay trailer for Bethesda's upcoming horror game The Evil Within 2 showcases some seriously unpleasant-looking bad guys, and beats the drum of a single, equally-unhappy theme: "This is all your fault." I mean, I've suspected for a while, but it hurts to have it spelled out...

http://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-warhammer-40000-inquisitor-martyr-trailer-showcases-major-alpha-20-update/
I played around with the first public alpha release of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr that developer Neocore Games put out in February, and it was interesting, but also very bare-bones. Today the studio announced the release of the alpha 2.0 update, which balances classes and gameplay, adds new items and features, and upgrades the game's visual quality. Naturally, all of that calls for a new trailer, and so here you go.

John Romero finally reveals who the original Doom Guy really is
http://www.pcgamer.com/john-romero-finally-reveals-who-the-original-doom-guy-really-is/
The cover for the original Doom is one of the most iconic pieces of videogame box art ever created. It's simple, stark, and perfectly evocative of the game experience: One man, unbowed and heavily armed, fighting off a horde of rampaging demons. But who is he? That's a question that, to be perfectly honest, I had never even considered before now. After all, it's just a drawing, right?

American Truck Simulator closes in-game road following real world landslide
http://www.pcgamer.com/american-truck-simulator-closes-in-game-road-following-real-world-landslide/
In his warm review last year, Andy suggested American Truck Simulator at launch was a "great start", but that it'd "really begin to take shape when more states and trucks [were] added". But what happens when its road networks are compromised by real world events? Art imitating life, I guess.

Darkwood release date set with eerie live-action trailer
http://www.pcgamer.com/darkwood-release-date-set-with-eerie-live-action-trailer/
Remember Darkwood? You know, the successfully crowdfunded top-down survival horror game that entered Early Access in 2014? That's right, the wonderful scare 'em up that was sort of reminiscent of Teleglitch but with a far more robust tool system whose slower pace in turn cranked its tension up to 11. Yeah, that one—it's now got a launch date. When? August 17.

Gorgeous adventure game Figment marks launch window with weird and wonderful music video
http://www.pcgamer.com/gorgeous-adventure-game-figment-marks-launch-window-with-weird-and-wonderful-music-video/
We first caught wind of Bedtime Digital Games' Figment in March—a musical action adventure game set against a lovely-looking, hand-drawn world filled with colour and puzzles and nightmarish adversaries. It's said to take place within the recesses of the human mind and, if its latest trailer is anything to go by, it seems its come on quite a bit since our last visit.

Hackers steal $34 million in second Ethereum cryptocurrency theft this week
http://www.pcgamer.com/hackers-steal-34-million-in-second-ethereum-cryptocurrency-theft-his-week/
One of the most popular cryptocurrencies in the world is drawing increased attention from hackers, or at least that has been the case this week. For the second time in a span of just three days, hackers have been able to make off with millions of dollars worth of Ethereum, leaving vigilante white hat hackers scrambling to prevent further theft.

In this latest robbery, the hacking group (or individual hacker, we don't know yet) exploited a vulnerability in Parity, a digital wallet service where cryptocurrency miners can store their Ethereum. In doing so, the hackers were able to swipe over 153,000 Ether worth approximately $34 million from three separate multi-signature Ethereum wallets, according to the most recent estimates.

I finally received the monitor today, plugged it in and my god the difference it makes.

I'm tempted to plug in the 1080ti, but my CPU would just hold me down. I've only got to wait for the HDD and RAm to arrive now. I received the extra fans earlier this morning.

Once the new rig is online, I'll be slapping GTA V, Skyrim, Fallout 4 and ARK onto the 512gb SSD (I was originally going for 256gb, but calculated and saw it wasn't enough for those games).

I just need to find a place to purchase a full Win 10 license now.
