Devolver Digital cancels its E3 'Indie Picnic' event
http://www.pcgamer.com/devolver-digital-cancels-its-e3-indie-picnic-event/
Devolver Digital, the publisher behind games including Genital Jousting, Strafe, and the upcoming Ape Out, said in May that its annual parking lot display at this year's E3 would include a showcase of "artisanal indie games [and] music" called the Indie Picnic. Befitting the name, the area would also feature food, "cold beverages," and even some carnival games. It sounds like a good time. So it's a real shame that Devolver has been forced to pull the plug on the whole thing.
>>What a shame.

We've got an exclusive first look at a new trailer from Dauntless, the PvE action game I previously described as "the PC Monster Hunter we've all been waiting for." While we've seen Dauntless' combat in action already, this trailer gives a brief look at some of its other features, including armor crafting, the hub city of Ramsgate, and a new snowy owlbear behemoth named Skraev.

The exploit was specifically used to target popular streamers.
The Long Journey Home gets a new, more forgiving 'Story Mode' option
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-long-journey-home-gets-a-new-more-forgiving-story-mode-option/
Daedalic has added a new "Story Mode" difficulty that promises to dial back the danger significantly. The galaxy as a whole is considerably less threatening in the new mode, the lander is much tougher and uses less fuel, planetary hazards will be reduced, and resources are more abundant, more valuable when sold, and more effective when used. Ships and equipment won't wear out so quickly, planetary orbit will be easier to achieve, and the non-human population of the galaxy won't be quite so dickish when you meet them.

It arrives on June 6.
>>Not only that, but it's also offering a free ten-hour trial.

http://www.pcgamer.com/consortium-the-tower-is-looking-impressive-in-new-video/
Science fiction immersive sim sequel Consortium: The Tower was already a game to watch. However, after seeing the latest video, I think it's a game to watch with both eyes wide open, and with no blinking. The latest Production Update reveals the current state of the Die Hard-esque infiltration game set in a simulated skyscraper, and it appears to have come on leaps and bounds since the early trailers I remember watching a couple of years ago.

http://www.pcgamer.com/brigador-gets-new-campaign-music-and-discounts-with-the-free-up-armored-edition/
Brigador is an excellent action game in which you control a variety of mechs with the sole purpose of exterminating pretty much everything that moves—you'll also demolish quite a few things that don't move as well. Whether you've already played it or have yet to try it out at all, it seems like a good time to jump in as a free update called the Up-Armored Edition has been released, and developer Stellar Jockeys is celebrating with some discounts.

The Australian ratings board has posted an entry for Minecraft Story Mode: Season 2, suggesting that Telltale's episodic adventure game is to get another series—and, given the date of classification, one that's likely to be announced at or around this year's E3. The listing is actually for the first episode, titled Hero in Residence, and we can expect "mild fantasy themes and violence" from that.

http://www.pcgamer.com/neverwinter-is-bringing-dinosaurs-with-its-next-expansion/
Neverwinter is about to get some dang dinosaurs in its next expansion, Tomb of Annihilation. TOA is based on the recently announced D&D storyline of the same name, and Neverwinter lead designer Thomas Foss talked about the new expansion on D&D's aptly-named livestream Stream of Annihilation.

http://www.pcgamer.com/wonder-boy-the-dragons-trap-will-release-on-pc-this-week/
The game launches June 9 on Steam and GOG, and while there are more fun and complex platformer adventures available in this day and age, anyone with a lingering nostalgia for old classics will likely enjoy The Dragon's Trap. In a neat twist, you can switch between the modern graphics and the 8-bit graphics mid-game.
Vintage RPG Silver arrives on Steam
http://www.pcgamer.com/vintage-rpg-silver-arrives-on-steam/
Every now and again, Silver pops into my head. So many imps murdered. 1999 was a pretty great year for RPGs, which meant Spiral House’s action-RPG had to go up against the likes of Planescape: Torment and System Shock 2, but it held its own. And now, finally, you can grab it on Steam and jump back 18 years.
Rainbow Six Siege hitbox fix stops earmuffs counting as a body part
http://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-hitbox-fix-stops-earmuffs-counting-as-a-body-part/
If you play a lot of Rainbow Six Siege, there’s a good chance that you’ve been killed when a bullet has struck your earmuffs, if you’re playing as Blitz, or another one of the accessories that the game’s Operatives wear to make themselves stand out from the crowd. Good news, then, because that won’t be happening anymore.
