I m still curious about dx12 performance though. Based on current gen benchmarks, AMD cards have been beating Nvidia cards in dx12 in several games and the entire press conf, there was virtually nothing about dx12 performance. I soo want to see the reviews urghh

I've read that the 1080/1070 is DX 12_Level 1 compliant, or DX12.1, and unfortunately that doesn't say much as the 980Ti was also DX12.1.

So yes, we'll have to wait until reviews to know how it fares in real world (not only in VR games) and DX12 games.

Yeaa cause as cool as VR is, its really not where my interests are atm since I probably won't be getting one until revision 2 at minimum. As more and more games come out in dx12 and it is looking to be the future of gaming, that is where my attention really is because I want a card that will shrek in dx12 more so than anything. We will see though! I am wondering how Forza 6 Apex is doing in terms of benchmarks since that's another DX12 game. This is gonna be one hard wait for the reviews loll

VR still doesn't interests me. Maybe once it falls into acceptable prices I'll give it a shoot, but that still seems a few years ahead.

I would also like to see Forza Apex benches, but so far I haven't seen any. Maybe next week.

I hope the new cards get benched in both DX11 and 12 games. Hitman and Tomb Raider would be good candidates as they have both versions.

Same for me with VR, once it's price drops to a level I accept and we get more games that make proper use of the tech, then I'll jump on board but even then that won't be for a few years yet.

Also I really hope we get to see some Vulkan benches with the new cards as I'm never going to be using DX 12.

Interesting. Why aren't you gonna be using dx12 anyway? I am just curious

Also which games support Vulkan atm?

Is there any Vulkan game out?

Also, your mention of games that make a proper use of VR is spot on, as I've read reviews of Adr1ft and EVE: Valkyrie and, while they are visually stunning, they are not very good and are actually a bit boring.

I still think that simulators will make better use of VR. Racing games with VR and a set of wheels+pedals or a flight game with VR and a joystick, will shine and bring a sense of inmersion never seen before.

He doesn't want to upgrade to Windows 10.

Well using DX 12 requires the exclusive WIndows 10 which I have no desire to go for =P.

I don't know if there are any "exclusive" vVulkan games being supported, I just said I'd like to see games getting Vulkan support as I along with others out there have no desire to use Windows 10 which entails DX 12. It would be really awesome for PC gaming if we had two or more options rather than just one.

That makes sense loll. Welp, just remember, the free upgrade to the anti-privacy simulator will end this summer so unless you want to pay $120+ in the future, you better be commited! Specially since many games in the future might require dx12 or windows 10. I am personally not a fan but its not really a choice unless I am gonna miss out on certain games and Vulken won't probably be as big as dx12 will be by the looks of it. (Least right now anyway)

Oh trust me, I've been aware of their deal for nearly a year now lol, I just don't like the Path MS is going down and I'd rather stick with 7, get Vulkan support and eventually jump to Steam OS, I'll maybe come back to MS when they decide not to permanently go down a path I don't agree with. If some games go DX 12 only that aren't specifically owned by MS then I'll simply avoid those games and avoid supporting that studio in the neart future, I game where I want to game, the last thing I want is some studio or corp demanding me to go where they tell me to. I do hope Vulkan wins out in the longrun because it supports multiple OS's while DX 12 only supports a single OS which gives no one a choice in that regard, with Vulkan you have multiple choices.
