I wonder why they're delisting them. It's not like there's a license that can expire or anything.

In any case, thanks for sharing.

Actually, it does.

Well, that's dumb. EA isn't going to do anything with those games, but instead of allowing others to take care, and profit, from them, they're just "nah", and now the games will be lost from Steam for the foreseeable future.

At least there's GOG.

The 9060XT 8GB should be rebadged as the 9050XT and just lower the clocks, would make a good budget eSports card.

If AMD wants to beat nVidia and obtain some mindshare with gamers, the 9060XT needs to be 16GB only, needs to match the 5060Ti 8GB in price, it would be impossible to recommend nVidia then,.. And then AMD achieves their objective of volume sales as they aren't chasing the high-end anymore.

I don't disagree with anything you've said here. It makes perfect sense. That said I doubt the rename will happen. I hope AMD proves me wrong though. Your pricing for the 16GB model seems to be what will happen according to leakers. The 5060TI 8GB price point of $380 (I know that's not reality) actually seems to be on the high end of 9060XT 16GB price point estimates.

We figured it out! The Steam version of LSL is licensed from Codemasters, which was recently purchased by EA, who maybe chose not to renew the license

Rusty Lake celebrates 10 years of strangeness with a free game, a new game announcement, a short film, and a big sale
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/adventure/rusty-lake-celebrates-10-years-of-strangeness-with-a-free-game-a-new-game-announcement-a-short-film-and-a-big-sale/
Rusty Lake is celebrating 10 years of creepy weirdness with a free new game, The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show, along with an appropriately weird short film and announcement of a brand new premium game called Servant of the Lake.
I've been a fan of the Rusty Lake series since Rusty Lake Hotel, a deliciously bizarre puzzle adventure about a group of sharply dressed animals at a swanky dinner party. More strangeness followed in Rusty Lake Roots, Rusty Lake Paradise, The White Door, The Past Within, and Underground Blossom, each of them filled with unexpected twists, secrets, and a deeply grim lore. Despite their strange, surreal nature, Rusty Lake games regularly draw thousands of players and enviable user reviews on Steam.
The new game, The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show, is a bit more straightforward than most of the other games in the series, at least on the surface, but it still goes to some unexpected places, which I will not spoil here. The majority of the puzzles are quite simple, but there are a few that tested me: A music puzzle near the end of the magic show had me absolutely baffled until, after about 15 minutes of trying (and failing) to brute-force it, I realized what I was looking at, and the pieces fell into place.
(...)
If you haven't yet sampled the bizarre delights of Rusty Lake, there's one more bit of good news: The entire series, including the Cube Escape games that started it all, is on sale on Steam and Itch.io for 66% off. Just in case I left any doubt, yes, I recommend them all.

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Mod Makes Dodge/Parry Easier/Harder
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/clair-obscur-expedition-33-mod-makes-dodge-parry-easier-harder/
Modder ‘Caites’ has released a pretty cool mod for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that makes dodge and parry easier or harder. This mod will be ideal for those who have trouble with the game, as well as for those who want some extra challenge.
Going into more details, this mod has five “difficulty” versions. These are Slightly Easier, Easier, Even Easier, Disgustingly Easy and True Expert.
To give you an idea, the vanilla settings for Dodge are 0.35/0.22/0.22 and for Parry are 0.25/0.15/0.15. In Easier Mode, we have 0.4/0.35/0.3 and 0.3/0.25/0.2 for Dodge and Parry, respectively.
True Expert makes the game even harder than its Expert Mode. With it, Expert has less i-frames than before. So, use that only if you have mastered the game and want a new extra challenge.
I’ve finished the game and I have to say the vanilla Dodge and Parry on Normal are quite good. Yes, at the beginning I had some trouble with them. Some enemies, especially toward Act 3, are really hard to predict. However, you will be able to memorize their attack patterns after one or two fights. Still, if your reflexes are not as sharp as they used to, you can use this mod so that you can enjoy the game.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Tamriel Rebuilt V25.05 Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind-tamriel-rebuilt-v25-05-released/
As promised, the team behind Tamriel Rebuilt has released a new version of it. Version 25.05 features the new Grasping Fortune Update, which brings new content to it. So, if you are a fan of Morrowind, I highly recommend trying it.
For those who don’t know, Tamriel Rebuilt is a mod for TES III: Morrowind that adds the mainland of the province to the game. To date, over half of the mainland has been created.
Grasping Fortune adds a massive new landmass in the south. It will also bring over 140 handcrafted dungeons to explore, as well as more than 270 new quests.
Do note that Tamriel Rebuilt is not part of Project Tamriel. Tamriel Rebuilt is a province mod that focuses on bringing the Morrowind mainland to TES III. It also houses the small province mod Eye of Argonia. On the other hand, Project Tamriel is an umbrella for several other province mods. These are Project Cyrodiil, Skyrim: Home of the Nords, High Rock 427, Project Hammerfell, and Elsweyr: Paradise Sugar can be found there.
Needless to say, this is an incredible mod for all Morrowind fans out there. You can go ahead and download it from this link. Also note that Tamriel Rebuilt doesn’t contain its own asset files. Thus, you’ll need to download Tamriel_Data.

First Unofficial Patch for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/first-unofficial-patch-for-the-elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-remastered/
The Unofficial Patch Project Team has just released the first Unofficial Patch for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This patch aims to fix a lot of issues that currently plague the game. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
For those unaware, the Unofficial Patch for TES IV: Oblivion packed hundreds of script, quest, NPC, object, item, dialogue and other bug fixes. This was a must-have mod for all Oblivion players. So, naturally, the team is now working on a version of it for the remastered version.
This first version of the Unofficial Patch merges all relevant fixes from the previous UOP, USIP, and UODP. This covers all of the base game content provided by the remaster. Moreover, all scripts have been reconciled with fixes provided by the base game.
From what I can see, this first release does not have a lot of bug fixes. So, don’t expect a lot from it. Still, this is the first necessary step for such a massive project.
For instance, right now, the Unofficial Patch fixes the Skingrad city sign markers so they display the city name correctly. It also updates the journal entries so that they now work for the “A Brush With Death” quest. Plus, it readds the fix for the missing map marker at Vanua, as well as the fix for the missing map marker at Dunbarrow Cave.
>> This article doesn’t have any media either. Also, this unofficial patch has made a lot of people angry.

Bethesda gives full-throated shout-out to Skyblivion fan remake after giving the whole dev team free Oblivion Remastered keys: 'I think what they're doing is very special'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/the-elder-scrolls/bethesda-gives-full-throated-shout-out-to-skyblivion-fan-remake-after-giving-the-whole-dev-team-free-oblivion-remastered-keys-i-think-what-theyre-doing-is-very-special/
I'll be honest, before the release of Oblivion Remastered, I thought it and Skyblivion—the fan mod that rebuilds Oblivion in Skyrim Special Edition—were diametrically opposed. This was zero-sum game territory, surely? If one gets mega-popular it can only be to the detriment of the other. Winner takes all. Only one leaves alive.
Well don't I feel like a fool? Not only did the Skyblivion team send "all love and no hate" to Bethesda and Virtuos' official remaster just before it finally released, but Bethesda then gave them all keys for the game for free. In a world of litigious megacorps sending the lawyers after their most passionate fans for daring to touch their IP, it's behaviour that's been a real credit to Bethesda and the Skyblivion team both.
And it doesn't stop there. In a just-released developer spotlight with art and development lead Dan Lee, Bethesda gave yet another shout-out to the Skyblivion team. "Even though I worked on Oblivion Remastered," said Lee, "I'm still excited for Skyblivion." Bethesda even played some footage of the mod while Lee waxed lyrical about it. It still looks great, if you're wondering.

Mod adds Dark Souls-style player messages to Oblivion Remastered so you can write 'Try finger but hole' in front of Patrick Stewart
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/the-elder-scrolls/mod-adds-dark-souls-style-player-messages-to-oblivion-remastered-so-you-can-write-try-finger-but-hole-in-front-of-patrick-stewart/
The thing that makes FromSoft games great isn't the tightly honed boss fights, the layered lore, or the quiet tragedy of their antagonists. It's the ability to write 'Don't give up skeleton' and 'Try finger but hole' across every inch of the game and subject players around the world to it.
Every game should have that and now, thanks to enterprising modders, we're one step closer to a world where that's true. Ghosts of Tamriel is a mod for Oblivion Remastered (via VG247) that lets you leave little messages for your fellow Heroes of Kvatch, Dark Souls style.
The mod comes from authors yamashi and jay-jay, and lets you drop messages anywhere in Cyrodiil for other players (who have the mod, naturally) to read just by hitting CTRL on your keyboard. They take the form of floating Welkynd Stones—those glowing blue mana-restoring rocks you get in Ayleid ruins—and are a lot more flexible than FromSoft's collection of canned sentence structures and words that players manage to make absolutely filthy anyway.
In fact, the whole thing is dangerously, wonderfully open. The interface is just a text document that you can title and write anything you want in. This is a recipe for a terrible nightmare, of course: you can already picture the ASCII art, but there's also an upvoting and downvoting system to push back on stuff you'd prefer not to see. Messages have a 24-hour lifespan before they vanish forever, but that resets whenever they get an upvote. On the flipside, any message that accrues enough downvotes will get yoinked out of the system. There's a system to hide messages you don't want to see in your own world, too.
The mod requires an internet connection, of course, and will show your character's name in addition to the messages you leave, but apart from that it's all gloriously anonymous in a very old-internet sort of way, which is appropriate for a remaster of a game from '06. "None of the data sent to the server is logged," say the authors, "it only exists in memory for the lifetime of the message, after that it disappears forever."
>> The article has one screenshot of the mod.

Friday news, part two of three:

Ex-GTA dev says PC makes scads of cash now so hopefully GTA 6's 'PC version will be closer behind' consoles—that is if 'decision-day' at Rockstar doesn't give us a last-minute delay
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/grand-theft-auto/ex-gta-dev-says-pc-makes-scads-of-cash-now-so-hopefully-gta-6s-pc-version-will-be-closer-behind-consoles-that-is-if-decision-day-at-the-studio-doesnt-give-us-a-last-minute-delay/
Rockstar might have come down like a tonne of bricks on the personal blog of former Rockstar North dev Obbe Vermeij (who worked at the studio from 1995 to 2009), but apparently it can't stop him from tweeting. To mark yesterday's 17th anniversary of GTA 4's release, Vermeij took to X to exposit on his experience working on the game, make some guesses about GTA 6, and explain why Rockstar keeps forgetting PC exists.

Randy Pitchford says Borderlands 4's new release date 'is literally 0% about any other product’s actual or theoretical launch date,' and you know he's talking about Grand Theft Auto 6

Game delays are a common part of life in videogames, but game advances—where a game's release date is moved up instead of back? Not so much. It happens, but it's a rarity—in most cases, developers are hammering away on games practically right up to the moment of their release. So eyebrows understandably went up yesterday when Gearbox moved up the release of Borderlands 4 by more than a week, from September 23 to September 12.
The immediate and obvious question was why, and there was really no answer forthcoming. Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said it was just a matter of development going really, really well, which is great to hear but come on: Are you really going to short yourself 11 days of dev time just because you can—especially when the release is still five months out?
>> Whatever the reason, here’s another bit of info about the game: rarity will matter again.

Evil Dead: The Game is being removed from sale just three years after it launched
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/horror/evil-dead-the-game-is-being-removed-from-sale-just-three-years-after-it-launched/
Just three years after its launch—and only two years after arriving on Steam, after a year as an Epic Store exclusive—the groovy multiplayer horror game Evil Dead: The Game is being removed from sale. Why? Rather like the famed incantation that enables safe handling of the Necronomicon, we're not so sure about that.

Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3 signalled the arrival of a day we've all been dreading: the day when we finally have to accept that Larian is moving its attention to its next major project. But while we won't be getting any more major BG3 additions, we can still expect hotfixes to address any outstanding issues like one that dropped earlier today. And where there's a BG3 hotfix, there's the timeless joy of bizarre Larian patch notes.

In an older, arguably better era of Call of Duty, Mark Rubin was its face. For 10 years he was an executive producer at Infinity Ward, overseeing Call of Duty's meteoric rise in the years after the original Modern Warfare in 2007. He was one of the guys you'd reliably see in a dev log video or on an E3 stage with controller in hand, waxing poetic about Captain Price's latest exploits, before leaving the company in 2015.
Most recently, he was an executive producer on XDefiant, Ubisoft's attempt at a free-to-play CoD alternative that the publisher shut down last year. That's all to say, Rubin's been around the CoD block, and he's not thrilled by what the series has become since his departure.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is the tale of Oda Nobunaga's quest to defrag Japan, and in tribute to the daimyō's relentless ambition, Ubisoft has announced its post-launch roadmap for the game consisting of patches, feature drops, and "height-gaining back ejects," which videogames need more of as a general rule.

I hate lockpicking in Oblivion Remastered. I hate the stupid little tumblers with their stupid speed variations and my stupid slow reaction times as I invariably miss the stupid sweet spot.
As someone who loves Skyrim's lockpicking, I was about to completely write off any attempts at going around cracking every door and chest in Cyrodiil. Even with our ridiculously handy Oblivion lockpicking guide I was, to be frank, crap at it.
That was until last week, when one Reddit comment changed my Hero of Kvatch's life. Now before you start—sure you can run and grab the skeleton key and auto everything, and sure you can just cast a bunch of spells to unlock things without ever even having to enter the lockpicking menu, but if you're like me and still at least like to try and do things somewhat manually, this is the cheese strat for you.

Huge news—Silksong now has an official release date, for, uh, a museum exhibit. It'll be playable at a museum exhibit for sure at a specific date. We still don't know when it's actually coming out, and at this point I think the bit is funnier if we never know.

Skyrim lead designer makes it sound like there's gonna be loading screens in Bethesda games for years to come yet, bucko: 'We just didn’t have a choice, really'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/the-elder-scrolls/skyrim-lead-designer-makes-it-sound-like-theres-gonna-be-loading-screens-in-bethesda-games-for-years-to-come-yet-bucko-we-just-didnt-have-a-choice-really/
Add together all the minutes of my life I've spent in loading screens and you could, well, send me into quite a grim depressive spiral, probably. And since I'm someone with several hundred hours invested across various Bethesda games, how many of those minutes were spent twiddling Daedric artifacts in Skyrim's load screens or looking at cool Netch concept art in Morrowind?
More than I'd care to count, most likely, given that Bethesda loves hitting you with a loading screen before you transition to an interior. Here's the kicker: it doesn't sound like anything's going to change in The Elder Scrolls 6 or after, either. Former Bethesda dev and Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith recently spoke to VideoGamer to tell you that, sorry friend, you're gonna be loading for a long time yet.

'We were literally held hostage': Overwatch 2 players are finding the matchmaking in Stadium tough, but the devs say they're working on a couple of solutions
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/we-were-literally-held-hostage-overwatch-2-players-are-finding-the-matchmaking-in-stadium-tough-but-the-devs-say-theyre-working-on-a-couple-of-solutions/
It's been a couple of weeks since Blizzard launched Stadium in Overwatch 2, and since then, it's been an enjoyable, albeit bumpy ride. Apparently, the new mode only uses internal MMR for matchmaking, but even still, players are encountering a bit of mismatch.
>> But it’s proving to be quite popular, with 7.8 million hours played across 2.3 million matches, and that’s just for launch week.

Stadium's roadmap for Overwatch 2 is planned out for the next three seasons, with more heroes, maps, and custom games on the horizon
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/stadiums-roadmap-for-overwatch-2-is-planned-out-for-the-next-three-seasons-with-more-heroes-maps-and-custom-games-on-the-horizon/
Stadium is more than just an Overwatch 2 mode—it's different enough that it could almost be classified as its own game, and a separate game needs a separate roadmap. The developers have planned out the next three seasons of Stadium, albeit roughly, that'll coincide with the regular cadence of seasons.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's publisher says Oblivion Remastered 'didn't seem to harm us at all', in fact, it may have helped: 'Everybody was thinking and talking about the genre'

While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's publisher has poked fun at the Barbenheimer-esque situation between its own stellar JRPG and the Oblivion Remaster, it doesn't seem like it's harmed Sandfall's hit at all. Clair Obscur landed very well, gathering over 1 million sales in under a week and an all-timer critical reception.
In a recent interview with The Game Business, senior portfolio director Matt Handrahan at Kepler says he's pretty sure that's down to Expedition 33 having something special to offer gamers, because hey, turns out they're also two very different games.

Take-Two shares tank after GTA 6's delay, CEO Strauss Zelnick assures panicky investors it'll still make more money than god and it's 'steadfast in our commitment to excellence'

Rockstar went and dropped a bomb on what was otherwise quite a sleepy Friday when it announced that—whoops, sorry—it was actually going to release GTA 6's console version on May 26, 2026, rather than in its previously announced release window of autumn 2025.
Which sure made game devs hoping to release something this year breathe a sigh of relief, but didn't much please investors in Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive. Per the FT, Take-Two's share price dropped 15% in the aftermath of Rockstar's characteristically austere news post announcing the delay.
>> xl-klaudkil has made a thread about the delay.

'I'd say chances are good': While the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 team is still figuring out where to go next, DLC is likely

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is currently doing a rather well-deserved victory lap after one million sales and stellar Steam numbers—which is heartening to see from an ambitious AA studio. I went in not expecting too much myself, and came out delighted (and a little dazed) after 60 hours of JRPG goodness, hankering for more.
My hunger might be sated, eventually. During her own celebrations, writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen took to Instagram to answer any questions the grateful public put forward to her—and one such answer (thanks, Vice) signals that DLC is a very real possibility in the game's future.

And here are the GOG and Steam deals for the weekend:

+GOG

+Steam

And that’s it, until the next time (nope, I won’t add anything else), I wish you a happy and gaming weekend.

I wish it were so easy, but a 9060 has been mostly confirmed, blocking the change you propose. So, unless we can convince AMD to rename the 9060XT 8GB as 9060, and turn the 9060 into a 9050XT, it won't happen.

Well, that's dumb. EA isn't going to do anything with those games, but instead of allowing others to take care, and profit, from them, they're just "nah", and now the games will be lost from Steam for the foreseeable future.

At least there's GOG.

Oh, and I don't know how to embed Bluesky posts.

You click the three dots below the post choose embed post from that menu then you just copy & pasted it.

We figured it out! The Steam version of LSL is licensed from Codemasters, which was recently purchased by EA, who maybe chose not to renew the license

The GOG versions are staying up, at least! But as with so many of these cases, it boils down to "rights nightmare"

By the time shit shat comes out, ps6 will be announced

It doesn't matter. GTA 6 will be the GTA game for the next three console generations, like GTA V.
