If only the 8GB problem happened in only that single game...

Well most of them have been getting fixed. The Last of Us got patched, Jedi Suvivor and now Forspoken. Only Hogwarts is the only AAA game that is still having big issues with 8GB. Not to say Nvidia's decision to ship GPUs with 8GB is the correct one but it goes to show that the issue was never about the current crop of games needing more but rather they were simply unoptimized.

Man, we cannot catch a god damn break on PC, without something fucking up...

I was excited for the release of Farworld Pioneers, an indie game that was made by some vets that made Starbound, a game that was meant to be BETTER than Starbound in terms of colony simming.

So what do they do when they launch in 1.0?, release a game that still required a very important patch, a patch that was meant to resolve the utterly garbage pathing and issues with the colony NPC's, you and the NPC's falling through the map, among other bugs, and this patch was apparently withheld just before 1.0, and they still haven't released that patch and it has now been 24hrs since launch and no word, no nothing from the devs on that patch.

All we've heard, is this one fangirl going above and beyond to apologise for the devs withholding said patch, but that it will arrive "soon™", and they are also trying to diffuse customer's anger levels at this launch state, which really makes me think they are just an employee or some shit trying to use an alternate account tot ry to diffuse the situation (It's happened before in the past multiple times on Steam, I'm not going to forget that devs can do that).

I'm just disappointed that the devs gave no real good reason as to why they couldn't just launch this game in EA. They stated that they "didn't feel like it was their thing", yet the game has some devs who worked on Starbound, a game that LAUNCHED IN EARLY ACCESS, back in 2013...

Like I dunno man, I'm just tired of devs knowing something bad exists within their game, but they withhold the shit that was really needed to make their main talked about point, work right off the bat (in this case it's the colony NPC's they keep boasting about). Now I'm not sure if it's TinyBuild being colossal dicks and forcing the devs to just release in 1.0, but if it's not, holy shit can I see that game getting abandoned in short time (because Starbound was abandoned 2 yrs after release).

I just want games to fucking work man, and be happy to play them, not "oh shit, another off my wishlist, better go back to my games that I usually play for years that work, and not play anything new for another 6 months".

I'm tired man.

One of the reasons why I always wait before buying a game especially from Indies and certain western developers like Ubisoft, EA, etc.

RedGamingTech and MooresLawIsDead are two channels that should be avoided... They both have a history of using wide margins to make their leaks seem-legitimate. I.E. Perf increase gen on gen between 10%-30% is a wide margin that is hard to get wrong as that is historically AMD's gen-on-gen improvement anyway.

Both will delete old videos where their "leaks" ended up being false.

For example... RedGamingTech asserted that the Series X was going to have 48GB of Ram, 4TB SSD and that PS5 was based on Zen3/RDNA3.

These aren't "leakers" they are just making videos on every single outcome/possibility and trying to pass it off as "truth". - They appeal to a very specific fanbase... One that seems to lack any real technical understanding.

I agree, for the most part, their leaks are not very often a hit.

That being said, the leaks for the 4050 and RDNA3 cards posted here do look realistic enough to be at least in the ballpark of what's possibly coming.

I would just rather not feed their channels because they are rumor propagators and not a viable source of fact or truth.

It's actually both.

A lack of optimization, but also textures and assets have ballooned in size thanks to the PS5/Xbox Series X hardware.
New rendering features like Ray Tracing has placed an additional load on DRAM requirements.

Either way, if a game is optimized or not, the quick and easy fix is more Ram... Games memory demands are only going to increase.
8GB is not here to stay unless you wish to run low-end hardware.

It also makes integrated graphics a little more worrying, the sweet spot is still 16GB of System Ram... As time goes on the GPU is taking more of a chunk of that.

Tell Me Why, the award-winning narrative adventure from Life is Strange creators Dontnod Entertainment, is free for the whole of Pride Month. Again.
This marks the third year running that Dontnods game has been given away gratis in celebration of pride. In fact, I was right here last year telling you about it. PCG alumnus Nat sounded the Tell Me Why trumpet back in 2021, shortly after the game's first episode went permanently free.
As has been the case the last two years, this deal includes all three episodes of the game, and is available from right now until July 1. As explained via Tell Me Why's official Twitter account, Dontnot hopes the deal encourages players to support trans causes. "As in past years, we ask that you give your money to trans creators, trans-inclusive charities local to you, and trans people in need."

'Challenging and realistic' Skyrim mod stops all your characters becoming stealth archers with one simple trick: Instant death
https://www.pcgamer.com/challenging-and-realistic-skyrim-mod-stops-all-your-characters-becoming-stealth-archers-with-one-simple-trick-instant-death/
Alright, quick show of hands: How many of us have started up approximately 30,000 games of Skyrim determined that—this time for real—you're not just going to end up maxing out sneak, archery, and annihilating all your enemies from afar? All of us? All of us.
Now, put your hands down if every single one of those attempts eventually ended with you, hunched over in a cave's dank corner, cackling as you loose dragonbone potshots at your foes for 3x damage? All of us? All of us.
Well no more, my friends, because Skyrim Special Edition's still-thriving modding scene has delivered us from our own temptations in the form of Stealth Archer Killer, a mod from, uh, SpongeBobHentaiSimulator that offers a simple yet permanent solution to the problem of stealth archer drift. Once installed, the mod will detect whenever you sneak with a bow or crossbow equipped and instantly obliterate you, conveniently preventing you from giving into your worst impulses and gravitating to Skyrim's most legendarily broken build.

Total War: Pharaoh is making huge changes to battles, from dynamic weather and terrain to armour degradation
https://www.pcgamer.com/total-war-pharaoh-is-making-huge-changes-to-battles-from-dynamic-weather-and-terrain-to-armour-degradation/
Total War has been revelling in fantasy and legends for a good long while now, but with Total War: Pharaoh the series returns to its roots, presenting a more grounded vision of history, albeit with some artistic licence. But even without magic, gods and superhuman leaders, Pharaoh still has some tricks up its sleeve.

Report: Most of Arkane Austin's Prey veterans quit during Redfall's development, and the ones that stayed hoped Microsoft would cancel it
https://www.pcgamer.com/report-most-of-arkane-austins-prey-veterans-quit-during-redfalls-development-and-the-ones-that-stayed-hoped-microsoft-would-cancel-it/
Redfall ranks as one of the biggest disappointments of the year so far. So disappointing, in fact, that PCG's Tyler Colp scored it 44% and deployed the potent phrase "I'm having a miserable time" fewer than 20 words into his Redfall review. But bad games don't fall from the sky; more often than not, they're the culmination of a long chain of wrong decisions, limited resources, and plain old bad luck.

There's still no news on long-awaited RPG Bloodlines 2, but we do have yet another Vampire: The Masquerade game on the way. This time around it's Justice, a new VR adventure that sends players to the dark streets of Venice in search of the truth behind a dark conspiracy.

Diablo 4 early access has begun, and the race to level 100 is on

Is a pre-order still a pre-order if you can play the game immediately? Isn't that just an order? Well, whatever the case, the full version of Diablo 4 is playable in "early access" now for anyone who's pre-ordered the $90 Deluxe Edition or $100 Ultimate Edition, while owners of the $70 Standard Edition won't be able to start playing until June 5 at the earliest, depending on their time zone (see our breakdown of the Diablo 4 launch times for details).

Blizzard dev claims he was fired for writing loot goblin that made fun of corporate greed
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-dev-claims-he-was-fired-for-writing-loot-goblin-that-made-fun-of-corporate-greed/
Though treasure goblins started as a Diablo thing, they've had a couple of cameos in World of Warcraft, showing up during the Diablo 20th anniversary world event back in 2017 and then as "loot specialists" added in a Dragonflight patch earlier this year. The idea's always the same: they drop treasure if defeated, but only if you catch them before they escape via magic portal. What made loot specialists different was that they had a lore-appropriate reason for their very videogame behavior, being members of the Venture Co. acquisitions department—a goblin trade cartel that's been used to parody corporate malfeasance since World of Warcraft's early days.
When Eric Covington on the World of Warcraft quest team wrote the loot specialists, he gave them lines like "Another record quarter for revenue!" and "No profit sharing!" without thinking much of it. Until he was fired out of the blue, despite having worked at Blizzard for almost nine years.

System Shock was originally pitched as Sonic the Hedgehog in space

Even Dead Space was initially conceived as System Shock 3. But according to a new report, System Shock's own origins are stranger than you could possibly imagine.

Capcom wants to know what Resident Evil remake you want next
https://www.pcgamer.com/capcom-wants-to-know-what-resident-evil-remake-you-want-next/
Capcom's got a pitch for you: What if it remade some Resident Evil games? A recent Resident Evil brand survey posted online by the company is filled with all the questions you'd expect. Capcom wants to know your age, how long you've been playing RE games, and whether you'd like to connect more with other RE fans (a potential answer to which is the very funny "Couldn't be further from the truth"), but right at the end it has one last request: "Let us know if there are any other Resident Evil games you want remade".
>> Is there any other old RE game to remake other than Code: Veronica? What if they put their sights on other franchises, like Dino Crysis or with a proper remake of Onimusha?

And these are the GOG and Steam deals for the weekend:

AMD now has less than a month to launch HYPR-RX

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-now-has-less-than-a-month-to-launch-hypr-rx

Pretty competitive against 6700XT in Raster in a good amount of games. Sometimes it's competitive against 3070 in Ray Tracing such as with Cyberpunk. It's quite a bit slower than a 6700XT in some games. And it has bugs where the game freezes like in Spiderman Remastered. But as they continue to work on the drivers, it could be the hero that the budget people need.

Noctuas findings are interesting when it comes to the hotspot of Ryzen. Basically because of the way the CCDs are positioned, the hotspot temps of Ryzen doesn't distribute properly with a lot of coolers so the heatsinks get an uneven load. But Noctua has a new offset mount that should help cool Ryzen CPUs better with their coolers. They also have direct die mounts and they even have 3d printable version that they are giving out for free.

Proprietary cables paired with proprietary controller and proprietary software but least the cables aren't as crazy as before. The controller does require a pci-e 6 pin and can handle upto 160 watts for all dem rgb fans.
