At least Nvidia had the decency to back off with the RTX 4080 12 GB, but this is still a huge joke.

Now someone just needs to get through to them that neither the 4080 12GB or the 4080 16GB are priced right either. 4080 16GB at best should be $700 USD if not lower.

5 FPS more than a 3090 Ti for a 80 class is insanely shit when the 4090 is over 55 fps more. Imo a proper 80 class should have at least 20-30fps more in the specific test.

People have been so laser focused on the 4080 12GB (4060Ti) that they haven't realized that the 4080 16B (4070) is really the 4070. The performance gulf between the 80 class and 90 class cards of the RTX 40 series is absurd. The difference in CUDA cores between the 4080 and 4090, 6656 CUDA cores, would make a solid 4060 Card.

Yea pretty much. I always mentioned both 4080s as been a shat value in the past but I have seen most people having an issue with the 12GB and not the 16GB. Hopefully now that the 12GB has gone away, people can also do the samething for the 16GB as that is also terrible.

Yeah too many companies double down on their bad decisions. It's refreshing when one doesn't.

UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection gets detailed PC requirements, RTX3080 for 4K/Ultra/60fps
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/uncharted-legacy-of-thieves-collection-gets-detailed-pc-requirements-rtx3080-for-4k-ultra-60fps/
Sony has revealed new detailed PC system requirements for UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection. According to the specs, PC gamers will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 or an AMD Radeon R9 290X for gaming at 720p on Medium settings with 30fps.

So the R9 290X is now on par with the GTX 960? Wasn't it faster than the GTX 970, especially in DX12 and Vulcan games?

But the system requirements often are rough estimates, probably an AMD R9 280 or an AMD Van Gogh (Steam Deck) will do for 720p/30fps.

AMD stopped driver updates for 300 series and older while Nvidia still continues to support their older GPUs with driver updates such as the 900 series. No driver updates = shat performance.

But... AMD drivers are like fine wine and performance of older GPUs gets better and better over the years compared to older Nvidia cards. That's what I've been told.

I feel like this is one of those "no choice" scenarios, because if Nvidia went ahead and launched both, ppl would either not buy the 12gb model or still give nvidia shit, and then go buy AMD. Nvidia knows they got caught out, so this is just another attempt at trying to save face, because we know they are trying to fuck us over and AIB's as well, they knew this before their attempt to launch the 12gb model, so them doing it now seems like a no choice kind of move (people are already noting how it's good of them to do this, but I don't see it as good, they should have known not to do this beforehand and read the room).

Considering how I've dealt with multiple drivers in a row that fucked over a few of my RTS games via Nvidia drivers, the Wolfenstein TNO and TNC "day 1" drivers both fucking me over and waiting for hotfixes at that time, coupled with the latest driver update that gives me no gains in games like Cyberpunk, but instead fucks over 2077's map and minimap for me.. yeah, i'd say AMD's are aging way better than nvidia's ones atm, nvidia just seems to fuck me over every few months with their drivers, that I do not trust to download another driver update for a half yr now.

After the recent driver update, I'm absolutely going to have to do my own job of researching driver updates for bugs and bad perf issues, which I shouldn't fucking have to do, if Nvidia did their god damn job.

For those wanting to sort out their recent Nvidia driver update that fucked with Cyberpunk, you can find the fix here:
