AMD Mendocino APU Specs Leak Out: Athlon & Ryzen 5 Lineup For FT6 Socket, 2 RDNA 2 Compute Units, Up To 32 GB LPDDR5, 4 PCIe Gen 3 Lanes

I know it's supposed to be low powered but 2 RDNA 2 CUs? Really?

Those handheld PC with Mendocino in them doesn't look very appealing right now.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Pretty much. Other than watching media, they may as well be useless. I think the only one that looks decent is the Ayn Loki where you can supposedly get a 6800U + 680M for $800 or 6600U for $599 but who the heck knows when that is coming out.

The other key difference is Valve specific game optimizations on the Steam Deck. I can guarantee you that Elden Ring will run like ass despite having CPU and GPU advantage on the Ayn Loki vs the Steam Deck.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Their predecessors had low-clocked 3 Vega CU, so the performance will still be up. But truth be told, I hoped it would be 4CU.

The reason I never got far into the original BioShock was that there was little ammo/resources to be found, which made playing the game stressful instead of a fun experience using all those neat abilities. I'm can be OK with stressful as well, but I didn't like it in BioShock for sure. I might have to try it again some time, even if just because it seems like a game I should be more familiar with, but it that image is true, Infinite definitely sounds more like my cup of tea.

Mendocino looking like a stripped down bare-bones entry level APU. Disappointing.. though it kinda makes sense that AYANEO are able to make a handheld at under 300 USD with that. May be good for old emulation and some indies but meh.

Kopite7kimi stating the release order for Ada Lovelace. Which is going to be 4090 > 4080 > 4070.

If we're getting 4090 mid July maybe September for 4080 and October for 4070?

It's a budget part... It's only a quad core.

2 CU's/128SP's can still outperform 4/6/8CU's depending on other factors, CU's aren't the be-all, end-all.

For the most part, this is a device for low-end usage like web browsing, video, office... The GPU's main advantage will be in encode/decode rather than it's rendering capability... But it could be decent for older, 720P titles and emulation that is more CPU heavy.
