I'd remove that before Pemalite bans you or worse for comparing Teraflops.

Looking at the 6600 / 6700 cards, if we were talking performance, the PS5/XBX would probably be 50 - 60% of a 3090 Ti. Now imagine if they had the allowance of 500-600 W GPUs instead of 100-120 W: instant 40-50 TF consoles with no need for a new architecture or node shrink!

I have 650 Gold PSU. What do i buy? 4060/50Ti, 7600XT or never releasing Intel ones?

Assuming there is stock this time.

That's what it looks like, yes. Either that or get a new PSU with the card, but PSUs will also be in high demand because the higher power requirements of the new cards and the new PCI 5.0 connector necessary to power the new beasts.

Couple that with Intel's head saying that he expects shortages to last until 2024 and yeah, it will suck for all for a while.

Yea am just gonna target midrange. Maybe those won't require new connectors. Not like most games i play are super demanding on my pc. In near future maybe just Starfield.

Captain_Yuri said:

Personally if you are planning to commit to a higher end one, you should buy a Power Supply before the cards actually launch. I would obviously wait for the TDP numbers but the last thing you want is to pay a premium for a PSU due to PSU shortages and GPUs as well.

But on the other hand, the requirements of what is required to be a long lasting GPU will continue to go down as long as you aren't targeting 4k. A 2080 Super which had an msrp of $700 is what was required due to the power of consoles. Then with Ampere, a 3060 Ti is good enough which had an msrp of $400 and it's faster than a 2080 Super. So a 4060 might seem meh but assuming that's faster than 3060 Ti like how a 3060 is similar to a 2060 Super... Well if you play at 1440p, a 4060 is all you really need.

Yea that's the main issue with shortages in a competitive landscape. You either need truck loads of money to buy up supply or you need an architecture that will pull above it's weight despite being in a node deficit. And this will especially suck for consumers because regardless of how good the performance may be, datacenter will always get priority.

It's all about money. TSMC might favor AMD in a situation where AMD offering equivalent amount of money as other companies but Apple, Intel and probably Nvidia will probably offer copious amounts of money to ensure they have supply for their products.

Yea, something with the power of 3060Ti/3070 is gonna be more than enough for me. Currently i play at 1080/144 hz. Tbh at most i would get for pc is 1440p monitor. I have seen 4k set ups. It is diminishing returns for me. Sure 4k is nice watching movies or tv shoes on big screen. So 4060 could be promising or might just pick up 3060Ti as they will continue to sell those it seems. Going for higher end cards will be unbalanced system.

If you have no interest in upgrading the rest of your system and just swapping out GPU. I'd get whatever 6 series from AMD/Nvidia tbh. The availability of these cards in the first several months from launch will be quite limited; due to high demand for new, mainstream cards. If you could stretch a bit more you might be able to get the 4060Ti; which should also be the upper end of what your PSU can handle. I'd wait for Nvidia/AMD's recommendations first though for power requirements.

As for intel's Arc. I would personally avoid. Intel seems to be having a problems with drivers and I wouldn't risk that tbh. Unless its cheap and works with games you play. But even then.. its a bit iffy.

Another option is wait for the new GPU's to come out and buy a cheaper Ampere card. You might be able to find a good deal on Ebay or something.

Yea i just built my pc in Jan of 2020. Ryzen 3600x, 32 GB ram, 650W PSU and used my old gpu Rx 580. In hindsight should or could have gone with 3700x. So either of upcoming midrange gpus would be quite an upgrade and i guess keep me going. Yea good point to avoid Intel.

Just not playing as much. Get tired after work to play on weekdays and weekends i spend with family or just tuning into the same pvp games that i can play on potato.

Thanks for all the replies. You guys rock and keep the discussions entertaining.

AMD Zen 5 CPUs Might Get Delayed To 2024-2025 Due To TSMC’s Priority Allocation of 3nm Node To Intel & Apple

https://wccftech.com/amd-zen-5-cpus-tsmc-3nm-2024-2025-delay-rumor/

Take it with a grain of salt but I do think that as if this generation was an indication of anything, future tech may not be won by the merits of performance and value but rather supply and demand.

As a worst case scenario, since it's still quite some time until then, could AMD opt for another node instead, like N4P? Granted, it would certainly hurt efficiency and thus performance, plus the chip would become somewhat larger, but wouldn't that still be better than having barely anything to sell?

Also, AMD could maybe split up the chips in different nodes, like CPU N3, GPU N4P, IO N5, or something like that, to mitigate the problem.

Mortal Kombat fans, here is something for you today. Styx KazikluBey has released a brand new version of the free MK Mugen game, Mortal Kombat Project Ultimate Revitalized.

Players can find fighters from pretty much all Mortal Kombat games. Not only that, but you can find 2D versions of fighters that appeared in some 3D Mortal Kombat games. For instance, Reiko, Tanya and Jarek (from Mortal Kombat 4) are playable. Additionally, you can play as all the classic bosses, including Shao Kahn.
Version 2.5 brings numerous new characters and stages. And, as always, all the newly introduced characters have their own finishing moves.

The mod replaces most CW soldiers with Stormtroopers and Co and Stormcloaks with Rebels. According to the modder, each have around 3-5 skins to use. Furthermore, it replaces the armors of guards with a more futuristic outfit.
Star Wars Redux 2022 also adds 3 droids to the Dwemer Faction, 5 weapons and tons of melee weapons. Naturally, and since this is a Star Wars mod, it features plenty of lightsabers with the ability to deflect blaster shots. And yes, you will also be able to use Force Powers.

TES3MP 0.8.1 allows you to play The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind in VR
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/tes3mp-0-8-1-allows-you-to-play-the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind-in-vr/
David C. has released a brand new version of TES3MP, allowing PC gamers to experience The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind online with VR support. TES3MP is based on OpenMW and, as its name implies, allows you to play Morrowind in multiplayer.
In case you did not know, TES3MP is the multiplayer branch of OpenMW, and not a mod. This basically means that TES3MP is made from the ground up, and uses none of Morrowind’s original engine code. Additionally, its team can add features that would never be possible or even imaginable in a multiplayer mod.
According to the creator, non-VR players can play together with VR players. However, the hand movements of VR players cannot be seen by other players at this time and they show up as using regular animations.

Indie developer ranj has released an early version of their Resident Evil 3 fan remake in Unreal Engine 4. This fan remake features 30 minutes of gameplay, and supports both classic “fixed camera angles” and a third-person perspective.
Since this is a fan remake, it has a number of bugs and glitches. It also has various placeholder textures/graphics. Most enemy animations are also basic, so you should temper your expectations. Nevertheless, this fan project looks kind of cool.

The free-for-all Knockout mode is live now until May 10, and is basically an eight-player destruction derby set in new arenas designed for vehicular combat.

The game's most popular healer had a bug that prevented her healing beam from chaining to allies during her Valkyrie ultimate, squashing any hope of saving her team during a hectic fight. Blizzard issued a patch that fixed the ability today, but a list of problems remain for the support character, which are detailed in this Reddit post by user ihatemouthwash.

But if I'm gonna compare Sons of Valhalla to something, it'll be a game more like Kingdom. It's a singleplayer action game that's got tons of vicious Viking combat, base-building, strategy, and even RPG elements.

Delightful casual game Dorfromantik is finally finished, with its 1.0 update dropping this past week. It's a game that I find deeply joyous, one where you put down little hexagonal tiles with slices of countryside to try and fulfill cute objectives... which give you more tiles... to make a larger sprawl of fields and villages... until you run out of tiles. Then you start over again. It's all set to a lovely soundtrack that got six new tracks for release.

In a recent interview with Twinfinite, marketing manager Matthew Houghton said, "When I first arrived at Dead Cells around a year ago, Arthur [Décamp, designer] showed me the game and what the team still had and I said, 'OK, so we are only about halfway through Dead Cells now.'"

Certainly sounds like an alien spaceship, I'll give them that. When they test the 12900k, the shat cooler allows the 12900k to boost up to it's rated speed for 53 seconds and then clocks down so heavily that it turns into a 12700k. Obviously there's no room to OC or anything.

Well, it's less than 6 months before we know the real and final specs of both AMD and Nvidia. Hopefully. Meanwhile, I'll give this new rumor the same credit as the ones before it: none.

As for Dell, that's just embarrassing. It takes a special kind of incompetence to build a system that performs worse than the individual parts, specially for that much money.

These Elden Ring double-bladed lightsaber mods are not canon
